I was the actress who never followed-through with what I loved. As a young gal in UK, I left the country at 20, and climbed my way through life around many occupations and professions. When I see great Actors I thoroughly enjoy, it takes me back to my true passion of theatre. I am SO impressed with Caitrona (little sis'). Her role in Outlander was and IS stupendous. Discipline and dedication is what gets us to where we need to be and to be the best we can be. So well done! To both of you Sisters. Thanks!

Finally she's given her time to tackle real issues and share her thoughts. Her role in outlander is such an incredible inspiring one for women.

I was delighted by this interview. Not only it shows a glimpse of who Catriona is as a person (respect !) , but also I can relate to nearly everything she said ! Yes!! When you just know “somehow” it will work out, it does. It’s called belief on the core level . Yes!! When you work your ass off and you know your stuff, you feel in a position to demand what you deserve without any uncomfortable feelings. So vey , very very true !! It’s admirable how authentic Caitriona is in that respect. And yes ! With age we learn to stand up for ourselves and yes, many of us reach that pint where we stop and question “is that really where I want to be in life?” And from then on make a CHOICE of either making changes or not. Thank you, Caitriona, for resonating with so many of us (I think?) as people who try to grow no matter our age and progress and learn and stay open minded to change and accomplishments and just ... life. I sincerely wish Caitriona all the very best in career and in life, having no doubt things will continue falling into place when the time is right . Once your in that “stream” you FEEL it’s right and you just how with the flow. Believing that it will work out the way it should. And yes, to every successful person / career there is always someone there who was a support system : partner, parent, friend, sibling, whoever. And thank God for those people .

I'm watching this video on Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. I am thankful for Caitriona for advancing the fight for women's equal pay, and for her sister Anne-Marie for being involved in an organization as important as City Women Network. I hope many, many, working women watch this and become even more empowered to fight for opportunities and money. When I worked in a bank, I used to tell my [female] boss when discussing employee appreciation: "Nothing says 'I appreciate you' better than cold, hard, cash!" Men get it, women need to settle for nothing less as well.

I enjoyed this conversation immensely. I could feel the love between the two which I think is amazing. Anne-Marie is every bit as lovely as Cait. I was really tuned in to what Cait's experiences were as she was getting started in the business and could identify with the comments she was making as my son is in LA and working towards his dream too. It's such a hard row to hoe and am happy for Cait to have made her way. I love watching her!

That was brilliant! I've seen my fair share of Outlander-related publicity (*fan*), but it was really great to see a different aspect of Catriona here: independence, advocating for herself, learning to say what she wants, and doing the work so that you feel you've proven your worth (if only to yourself!)

What an enjoyable interview! Great discussion between two delightful and intelligent females. I could have watched this for much more than an hour. Caitriona is such a talented actress and hearing her use that platform to advocate for women & her charity has made me appreciate and respect her even more. I do hope that there will be more interviews with Caitriona and Marie in the future!

I found myself longing for something I haven't thought of since childhood... a sister. Watching your interaction with Caitriona was beautiful and heartwarming. I hope to give my baby the gift of a sibling someday~ the bond between you two is just endearing to witness during this interview.

I was duly surprised at the beauty and integrity in this show, from all the characters. I’ve now watched some good interviews with your co-star and yourself, and I am further surprised and delighted to see that the characters you both portray on camera is truly born out of your own character and personality. I can now see that the integrity and sympathy with which Caitriona interprets Claire is something that is induced from her own character. Such a lovely chat between sisters. As 1 girl with 3 brothers -- I envy your relationship, as well as your abilities to speak up for yourselves. I came from a family where females were not supposed to speak their minds or stand up for themselves, and if they did, they were just being defensive. A fear of speaking up has not been helpful in my working career. It was also interesting to hear you speak of how to set a welcoming tone on set -- as this has been mentioned in various podcasts and chats that I have heard. I had commented on one podcast that I thought that it was both you and Sam who were welcoming, supportive, and generous and that would set the more "family-like' atmosphere on your production, as opposed to some other sets which might have a more definite hierarchical atmosphere. I just started watching Outlander during the Shelter in Place, so I am a new fan. Thank you for sharing with us.

I just started watching Outlander and loved the show but more than that, it was Caitriona who captivated me. She is such a breath of fresh air and watching this is very delightful. I can relate to some of this as a woman who is working in a male dominated industry. I love working with men more than women so I like it. . The good thing with men is they don't take things personally and they put emotion out of the equation. They are quite simple to work with. I've always been outspoken in my views and I know that in the beginning they would question me but after many years, I have proven I was right but I was not happy to be proven right. A lof things could have been fixed if they'd just listen but I am at a point in my career where I just don't care anymore of what either sex thinks of me so that is really liberating

This is awesome. I'm a Sociocultural Entertainer, and one day I'll be a Social Educator. I've just done a Postgraduate in the Institut del Teatre about Scenic Arts and Social Action . Which has been an incredible opportunity. The Institut del Teatre is very important here in Catalonia, it's a Scenic Arts School, sort of like Julliard, it's very difficult to get in. Some of the best catalan actors and dancers have studied there, and watching an Institution as big as this one, starting to give importance to the Community and Social Action doing Postgraduates just like the one I was able to study is incredible. In my class there were 24 people and 23 of those were women, all coming from different backgrounds, most of us were involved in the arts in one hand and social action in the other, and we saw the opportunity to use them both together, using the scenic arts to empower people. Having this many powerful women as classmates with different ages, different experiences, was very inspiring: one had been on TV but was a Social Worker as well, other came to class the first day right from the airport, she is a Mexican Activist Actress and also teaches a traditional Mexican dance in a Association located in Barcelona city. Another one is a music therapist and a leader of a feminist batucada (percussion group). And well, the list goes on and on... I'm a girl from a little town located in the mountains, in the Barcelona's province, that has always loved music, even inside my mom's (mum's in the UK 😅) womb. It's in my blood, my father was a musician, my grandfather as well, my great-grandmother was a piano soloist until her husband died and had to leave it behind and started cleaning stairs for living. Well, having these background I always had the passion to dedicate my life to pursuing my dream, my calling which was music. But my path has being a rocky road. As a child I've never been able to study music or dance (another passion of mine by the way) cause of money. But, my father, may he rest in peace, always had musical instruments at home and I learnt to play some of them (just the basics though). I started having bass guitar lessons in 2013 in a workshop and later on I started studying voice and guitar in 2018 in a Music School from my town. Though I didn't start from scratch, like I said, I knew the basics already. I said earlier that my father was a musician, he studied guitar in the Conservatori Municipal de Música de Barcelona and the Aula de Jazz afterwards, but he was a telecommunications engineer, he used to make a living working as a computer technician, music for him was just a hobby. And, at the beginning he didn't encourage me to make my living with it. Cause he thought that if I worked with something that I was really passionate about, I might ended up reckless and hating it. So I started studying the same thing he did, cause I liked it as well. But I couldn't finish it because I couldn't picture myself working in an office. I'm a people person, I'm one of those that tries to make the world a better place. So, I dropped out of college, in my moment of crisis, I had to start over, and that's when I discovered Sociocultural Entertainment. And it changed my life completely. I had the chance to live in Rome during two months in 2016 and two months in Lisbon in 2018 due to a couple of ERASMUS Scholarships, and now I speak five languages (and counting, I want to learn as many as possible): Catalan (my mother tongue), Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese. And lots and lots of experiences that I wouldn't change for anything not even for a steady income, though it would be helpful I won't deny it😅, but doing something I love and helps people. Nowadays I'm about to start my own project, thanks to this Postgraduate I talked earlier. And it is a about doing community music, in hopes of getting a Cultural Centre in my town. It's something tricky to explain. Anyway, this large, huge and extensive comment (my apologies for the length of it by the way), was my personal way of thanking some women like you for doing what you do, for speaking up, pursuing your dreams and leaving an incredible example and legacy behind where younger generations like mine, someone that was born in the late 1994, or even younger generations can receive and learn from. I really appreciated this interview, especially the very last “two minutes” when you talked about advocating for equal pay and that as women we need to just get on with it because we are going to be seen as difficult anyway. I am a Jewish musician and clergy, and I think women in clergy also struggle with this equal pay issue. I have watched men who were not as qualified or simply not comparable to me as a musician paid more, while I worked longer hours and simply produced more output. It has taken me a couple of hard situations to stand up and say I am willing to walk away if I am not paid fairly and recognized for the work I have done. Right now I am partnered with another woman clergy, and so things are really great. There isn’t this disparity between us, and for the first time in my professional life, I don’t feel like I have to fight tooth and nail for every dime, and the work is divided equally. But it takes us being willing to stand up and not worry that we will be viewed a certain way. It is so hard because women often are more “emotional,” or, I would say we are more empathetic, and so we are often scanning so many feelings and possibilities that we come off as not as strong with our position in advocating for what we deserve. So again, thank you so so much for addressing this issue of equal pay for women. It spans all careers. And it needs to be confronted and dealt with.
