As an outsider (American) who has had the good fortune to visit Didsbury I found the village charming and greatly enjoyed the community and restaurants/pubs. That said, while the history of the UK is a compelling reason many of us come back year-after-year, narrow sidewalks, limited parking, and aging infrastructure are not historical draws on par with Tudor, Georgian, or Victorian era structures. Kudos to those with the vision to launch the Future Didsbury project. Let's hope it becomes a reality.
