We saw Cele bursting into tears at the eNyobeni tavern so we do know that the man is not emotionless. Also, being the minister of police who leads the SAPS...if he were to be emotional regarding every incident that happens I would be worried. His job requires him to keep a level head. Again I say, I’m not a fan, but the man should be treated fairly, as all people should.

Thulas you shouldn't say those sorts of words. What you put out into the universe....People need to understand that police don't stop crime, all they can do is to investigate an incident after the fact. We need to start asking why there such a culture of rape in the country and address those root causes. How can one be angry with the police if a boyfriend murders his girlfriend or rapes his teacher? It's a societal issue and that needs introspection. What we need is visible policing and an equipped NPA that will ensure 100 percent convictions for such incidents and special courts for this . The system needs to work , but before the crime the people must ask why is crime so prevalent and of a specific nature. Rape cannot be blamed on socioeconomic conditions. I would argue it's cultural and rooted in a history we haven't rooted out. There was a time when babies were raped because it was believed they would cure AIDS but nothing was done in the Sangoma space/industry to address this harmful lie. That's not a police competence. We need to do more.
