So, I am on the fence about getting this watch,. My number 1 requirement is an accurate standalone GPS mode. Some say this watch fails in that department. Should I just get a Garmin??

It’s important to remember this is a $100-150 watch. A ultra accurate garmin is 3-5x that price, so adjust your expectations realistically. If my Life depended on GPS system, I wouldn’t use either watch, I’d use a GPS satallite system for outdoors… I have never had issues with it, I use it just to track my outdoor runs and pacing. Not sure to what extent you truly need the GPS

Solar won’t add much life to watches of this magnitude. My garmin fenix will only pick up 24 hrs of battery with a week of optimal sun exposure.

I have the raptor pro not sure how much different it is. I am trying to figure out how to remove/edit my workout list on my watch. I know how to add workouts but how can I remove? I have already reached out to Alpha Gear. Just wondering if you had some insight on this.

I have the raptor pro as well, not quite sure, still working through the new watch, but I will have the review up soon. That said. I do like the raptor pro over the raptor (it’s just a little bulkier of a watch), but it’s pretty loaded w tech

It has outdoor walking. I just do freestyle on weightlifting and workout stuff. Honestly main difference is anything outdoors or traditional cardio allows you to see your pace and GPS mapping. For weightlifting or anything in gym, heart rate is about all you need

It’s a setting. If you do quick swipe and hit the icon that is for lift screen, you can do it.

New Sub...Just purchased watch...if indestructible , why are they offering the face screen protector? I've already paid now but something isn't sitting with me correctly. I just want a super heavy duty watch that can let me know if I am having a heart attack while on my yak in the middle of the ocean going for tuna. Does the band have to be tight for it to register correct measurements? Great video...I will be pulling up your collection. Be Safe.

Not sure. I don’t use the screen protector. If in the open ocean I wouldn’t solely rely on this watch gps. Get the right gear for the job. This is a $100-150 dollar watch, it was a great replacement for my $100 g shock, but I’m not claiming it has the most legit spec like a $1000 watch would. So keep that in mind. That said. I like mine, and it does what’s needed (time, sleep tracking, timers, text, calls, steps, hear rate although I don’t pay attention that for fitness workouts, but it gets it continually when I’m not lifting). Ps, best of luck fishing, I too am avid angler @musclemikefishing. I’ll Be out this weekend in Florida in yak in mangroves going for snook, tarpon, and redfish… so I’ll let ya know if a massive tarpon gives me heart a go and this watch can pick it up lol

I do not believe so. It can ping your phone, but I don’t think it can do it the other way around.

@@j2fit I just received mine today and noticed my raptor pro has a different app called Da fit. I've found it now by clicking the actually icon that says "face gallery" under watch faces, not the watch face icon above it. That could be tweaked in development.

Yea. I’m same (simple Watches, but wanted to try one and see, but didn’t want to pay Apple $$). This one stacks up. I also like the Raptor Pro (review coming soon). They say they stand up to that harsh environment.

Did you get the watches? I ordered the same. I have to say I kind of ordered them on impulse. I should have done more research. I attempted to cancel the order before they filled the order and gave me a shipping #. They did not respond. I did it in the window. So I go them they are not as solid as you might think. decent looking. But I would not hold out much hope of them being durable. I def would not recommend them. Just have them to ware something different form my appl watch which I love. Far far superior product.

not too familiar w the specs on that. most of these watches in this category share many features. I like the raptor (again, I havent used the trex 2), but its very durable, and its about $40-50 less than the trek 2. But yea, I have no problems with the Raptor specs, design, and battery, comfort, look, and durability.

The most important factor about any smart watch is the measuring accuracy by the watch sensor. I question how accurate heart rate, SO2 etc is on Alpha Gear as compared to an Apple Watch which has been tested in a lab by a PHD. The sensor in the Apple watch has proven to be very accurate in measuring heart rate, SO2 etc. Apple uses one of the most accurate sensors available. How accurate is the Alpha Gear watch sensor?

lol. well im not a lab, so I am not sure. but i have had no issues and feel my data is good enough for me to run with it. I also have had so so experiences with apple watch with that bio feedback, so IF i really had to have THE BEST feedback, i would get a garmin that is like 1k.... but this is a budget watch that is indestructible, so keep that in mind. Its not promising elite abilities at a budget price. Its promising good metrics and being tough, which is great for most people.

I bought a Bravo with the Altimeter, GPS tracking, compass - WAY OFF!! The altimeter constantly reads MINUS 1275' when i live at 2760' - no help from support to calibrate or reset. Be cautious to buy one of these!! All marketing - no support.

I bought the Bravo XL about 7 months ago. My decisión was based on all the you tube videos thinking it's a great watch. I ended up buying 2 more around Christmas last year. Now my bravo xl is dead. A useless watch. A scam

Other than you not understanding the watch, what else are you saying it is bad for? May just need to spend a little bit of time going through and learning to watch itself and the app… it’s not overly complex but I agree the directions could be better. Is there something you’re struggling with specifically?

Exact same situation here unfortunately. Loved the watch but froze and eventually wouldn’t come on. Haven’t heard from them since. Not worth replacement cost. Half way to a Garmin instinct

Walt Folks...did you actually read the User's Guide Warning for this "supposedly" sturdy watch? If I'm a Swimmer, I most certainly would expect to be able to use the buttons underwater. If I go to a warm beach to do water aerobics, etc., I will likely submerge the watch in seawater. SMH. NO, this is not a ruggedized watch, and one must be conscience of the environment you're in while using this device.

Almost any watch no matter it's water resistant unless specifically meant to be a diving watch will tell you not to press buttons underwater

A lot to unpack here. If you demands are that intense, then you should get a military grade, scuba tested watch. I’ve swam, submerged, and tracked fitness w this on for prolonged periods, and no issues. But do what you want, you seem to need something more than this (and to be clear, I made it very clear this is a gray value for most people, but not all who have these demands… if you watched the full video)

@@jacobworthen3638negative, love or hate Apple Watch Ultra - you CAN in fact use buttons and crown underwater. Same for Garmin. Simple Google search on multiple links BESIDES Apple/Garmin sites actually test this and prove it.

I would 100% contact them. That is not reflective on the watches. That may just be one off, I’ve had mine on for over a month, doing tough workouts, fishing, bathing, working outdoors, no issues whatsoever. Contacted them and if you have issues getting them to respond (which I don’t think you will) reach out to me and I’ll connect w them too (I’m collabing with them and have their ear)

*SCAM - DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY* This watch is very poorly made. I actually received a completely different designed watch than what the photos on their website showed. Their customer service is horrible, next to impossible to get a return. They publish 30 days returns, but it is actually 3 days.

I googled and found this company, it seems to fit all my desires as far as a smart watch goes. Why do you say no? Legitimately asking, what should I expect in addition to your discrepancies? I'm not fully committed but I am impressed with this watch. Talk me out of it and perhapsnyou can save me some money.

Terrible costomer service and horrible watch!! After only 4 days of use of the raptor Pro alpha gear watch my son dropped it on the carpet and the screen went black. It took close to 3 weeks to receive a response from customer service but when I finally did they refused to refund me and sent me another one of there crappy watches without even asking me🤬😡😡

The bezel is my concern. Cheap bezels flake and leave it looking cheap. And the screws sometimes rust on cheap products.

Not sure what to tell you. It’s a $100 watch, and it’s made to be beat up. I’ve worn on salt water and every day in gym (I work in gym all day too). I’m not easy on it, and I take it off and throw it around. That said it’s been fine for months, so use that as you may.
