In-Depth interview with David Rusan and how he built/builds the Rusan Original like the Prince Cloud Guitar used in Purple Rain.
I will be giving a guitar away that might resonate with fans of Prince and fans of Cloud Guitars. EMG Pickups, Schaller Hardware...own a beautiful custom guitar! I have been building guitars for 12 years. Some of my guitars are played by professional musicians, including musicians who played with our Minnesota's Own Prince Rogers Nelson (Prince). I thought it would be creative and bring some joy to the world if I found ways to give some guitars away. For this to work, I will need patron support through Patreon. The more support, the more guitars to give away and I will film it for your pleasure! I've gotta pay for parts somehow :) The first guitar featured was in process prior to developing the idea and already has a destination, however my hope is to continue building guitars and giving them away to individuals who need a boost in life. Amazing looking guitar I would love to have a left-handed version of the cloud. Unfortunately, when I talked to Dave Rusan on Wednesday, he currently is not set up for left-handed clouds.

I’ve built a couple of them …it definitely takes a righty like me a little longer to build a lefty, but it’s a fun challenge.

Great video. It always leaves me baffled though, why we never get to hear the Cloud guitar. What does it sound like in different amp situations? Yes, we all know the Prince lead solo tone but is there anything else this guitar does? What about the 3/4 scale? I'm not jumping on the video. As someone who would want one of these, I simply couldn't buy one, I don't know what it sounds like.

Yeah it sure wasn’t my choice! I might be able to do more in the future! Dave is a super guy and very hospitable when people visit. With visitors from all over the world, at the time of the interview, he was pretty concerned about his health.
