The Duhallow Farming for Blue Dot Catchments EIP was a five year (2019-2023) agri-environment scheme that worked with over 100 farmers in a North Cork catchment to protect and restore river water quality to high status. In this video we visit demo farmer William O Connor from Coolageela, Kanturk. William has installed several measures through the project including a farm road upgrade, rainwater harvesters and an in-drain sediment pond. In-stream woody habitat and semi-natural grassland retention is also rewarded each year through a results-based payment.
