I really like this subclass, it's overall balanced but it can be quite strong if played tactically, also i love the flavor and roleplaying in it, which can introduce some dope backstories, i think you did a really great job !

Great work! Yea they could have at least done one dragon warlock and then provided guidance on how to adjust it for each dragon type. It is very weird that they aren't including one.

I realy like what you did here, but I still wanna mention what I think Wotcs reason for no Dragon-Warlock is: Genie exists. It has got elemental damage, flying and treasure related stuff. You can very easily reflavor Genie to be a dragon patron and maybe they felt like what they would come up with would be to close to genie. Also they just added a new Warlock in Van Richtens.

I had devised my own idea for a dragon warlock shortly after fizban's. Where might I find like minded individuals so I could get feed back and help refine what I created. One thing I did for my version was create a lvl 6 keystone that focused on enhancing the pact boon, enhancing and defining 4 different arch types. I haven't seen any other warlock subclass play to this and thought it was interesting. Anyways I'm rambling, Great video! Keep up the good work!

I'm all too keen to see what my DM thinks about this, and moreso to fool around with the various pacts and invocations, trying to tie them into each dragon colour.

I love the idea that your patron can be killed. This makes me want to multiclass with the Sorcerer class using the Draconic bloodline. My character uses the draconic bloodline to boost the powers obtained from the patron. Ending my charcters arc by slaying said dragon patron and becoming a patron himself/herself siring new draconic warlocks. Eventually waiting for the inevitable surpassing by one of his new disciples thus perpetually rotating the cycle of patronee becoming the patron.

Hey! I just stumbled across your video. I made my own dragon warlock subclass as well about a year or so ago (and published a video on it on my channel the day Fizban's dropped), so I figured I might jump in and offer some constructive criticism regarding yours. Overall a big fan of your design choices, but there are a few areas where it needs work, I think. 1. The warlock's expanded spell list feature never includes spells already on the warlock list. Warlocks don't get the spells for free like other classes with domain lists, so having Fly and Fear in the 3rd-level slots doesn't actually do anything-they're essentially left blank. You could probably slot in Elemental Weapon (because of dragon elemental affinity) and Wind Wall (because of the wing attack legendary action) to replace them. The rest of the spells aren't on the warlock list, so they're fine to keep as is. 2. I like the concept of the Breath of the Patron feature, but there are a couple of things that make it extremely busted. For starters, since invocations all still work with the feature, taking Eldritch Spear turns the breath weapon into a 300-foot cone, which I don't think you intended. I would say you'd be better off just by making BotP a separate feature from EB. 3. Many other warlock subclasses offer permanent resistance at either level 6 or 10, so I would recommend making the resistance factor of the level 6 feature separate from the AC boost. You could also pretty safely roll Draconic Obsession into your 1st-level ribbon feature, since its not impactful enough that I think waiting until 6th level is justified. 4. You don't offer any information on how to mechanically interact with the gold coin in Trap of the Treasure Hoard after you've spent your action to enchant it. How far can you throw it if you choose to throw it? Can you throw it at all? Is saying your patron's true name an action, bonus action, or something you can do without expending any combat resources? These things should be itemized so DMs across different tables can make the same rulings on the feature. Overall, though, it's a pretty great baseline!

Would the 300 foot range invocation also apply to the modified eldritch blast? Cause a 300 foot cone seems kinda whack
