After you finish with this album move to the next underrated album from them “Soundtracks to your escape”. They have killer bonus track as well “Discover me like emptiness”

The pre-chorus on Transparent layers in the clean vocals with the screams as it transitions over into the clean chorus, so well done

This was my first in flames album ever. listened to it constantly when i was like 5 or 6 years old. My big brother gave it to me. Ive been a huge in flames fan ever since. Also i love your video, rock on bro.

Just want to point out - so throughout this review, and particularly at the beginning, you point out how much the sound of In Flames has changed - particularly the vocals. That's the meaning of the name Reroute to Remain, and why its title track is the first track. It is also why the album is "white", and they have a new "plain" logo - to be as opposite to the metal stereotype as possible, If you look at live shows from 2002-3, and the Cloud Connected video, they're wearing all-white as an extension of this.

Lol! When you said the Korn bit about the vocals, the singer loved him and the band, and you can see from the old In flames to this, huge difference.. lot of inspiration. Most of bands I love mention “Korn”, make it they own sound. The band “Sikth” song “bland street bloom” another band inspired but good!

Reroute is definitely not a bad album, they did something so great with the harmonic layers, specially in Anders' vocals, that I can't really describe. I'm not a fan of the way it's mixed, however, because those drums are so up-front in the mix that they end up drowning out the vocals a bit.

Reroute To Remain: God tier song! System: Why has no one asked for System yet? Dude, you just gotta understand the amount of *really good* songs In Flames have got! And yes, I never really thought about it, but he does sound reminiscent of Jonathan Davis there! Drifter: A good song, but not great. Enjoyable to listen to, but compared to most of the In Flames discography, it's probably ranking a bit closer to the bottom for me. Trigger: This song is one I always remember as decent, and every time I listen to it again I'm reminded of how amazing it is! This is one the crowd starts jumping to at concerts! Transparent: Yes, this one grows on you! It sounds weird the first time you hear the chorus, and then it gets better every time. And then it's just awesome every time you hear the song after that.

This album is amazing from begining to end, but many hardcore fans of old In Flames didn't appreciate it much at the time, so it was somewhat forgotten. But yes, it deserves much love. And for the similarities with Jonathan Davis' vocals, this IF period was very inflenced by Nu Metal, and Jonathan and Anders both have that same kind of "wavy"(lacking better words to describe it) voice.
