When I listen to this I imagine a girl visiting a forest every summer to see a forest deity who is the only one who can play a broken abandoned piano in the forest. The deity sees her growing up each year until eventually the girl stops visiting, and she grows up to be an adult only to happen to visit the same forest again, when she hears a distant sorrowful piano playing. All the memories come back but she cannot see the deity because only children can see spirits. But she sings along to the piano until it no longer sounds sorrowful, but hopeful.. alas the piano stops playing and all that’s left was his voice in the wind, bidding her farewell.

i don't know, there's something different about this song. Its melody, the little souds, i don't know. All i know it's that i haven't felt this calm, relaxed and happy in a long long time. I know you may never see this comment but I want to leave it here just incase. Your music has been my go to since high school to calm me down when I go through traumatic things. Wether it was needles (I’ve done that about 4 times to this song alone), a nose swab which was so scary the first time, going through my dad passing away and today I’m facing my trauma and ptsd by getting in a drivers seat and learning to drive. My interpretation of these songs are not that the autor is in love with an actual ghost, but that the ghost he's in love with are actually ideas in his head, ideas of characters, stories and relationships... ideas that are probably never going to exist outside of his head, and are just that... ghosts. And for me, these songs express that feeling so well and they touch me so deep, because my ghosts are overwhelming, and I'm so in love with them. I'm assuming were mostly in our late teens or early to mid twenties. I hear constantly that life passes by in what seems to be an instant. I'm growing all the time, mentally, emotionally, etc.. but not everyday. Failure is a gigantic part of success. Being scared is okay, and stagnant moments shouldn't be frowned upon.. life can feel like an eternity if you forget to pause,breathe, and remember things could be worse than you could conceive. This is the beginning. Be grateful.

I feel like a spirit sometimes. All my friends are depressed and battle their own demons everyday. And here I am a ray of hope and sunshine. I’m always at their side comforting telling them that everything will be okay. I carry the heavy load for them and I take the hurt for them. I help them through life and guide them. Yet when I look back to see who has my back there’s no one. I fall to the ground, broken and discarded. I feel like crying and letting everything wash over me. Then, everyone I’ve helped comes back and they all surround me, now glowing beacons of light themselves. Now that I have done my part it is their turn. They all surround me and pick me up and help me until I’m ready to walk on my own once again... EDIT 2023: How much different I was compared to then. Read further on if youre ready for the truth You can only rely on yourself. No one is going to come back and pick you up. The sooner you realize that the sooner you can avoid being hurt and being disappointed. You must learn to strengthen yourself and that other people are only a convenience. However, sometimes in a million years someone who will be there for you will come. Dont let them go, ever. As for if theyll pick you up? Only time will tell. While it may be hypocritical from the first sentence, realize that I needed a way to grab your attention. Edit 2024: Wow how time flies huh? Ive changed a lot as a person and its cool to see a glimpse of how my past self used to look at the world. We're everchanging as we grow and learn how life works. A lot of my friends from that first paragraph went on their own ways once I got to college. Still got 3 homies who I trust with my life. Theres hope out there and a future.
