In new docuseries ‘Jonathan and Jesus,’ actor Jonathan Roumie shares impact of playing Jesus

Not many children build a giant cross in their backyard and pretend to be Jesus Christ crucified. But this is just one of several interesting facts we learn about Catholic actor Jonathan Roumie in his recently released docuseries “Jonathan and Jesus.”
The new show, released Jan. 4 and streaming on Amazon Prime, follows Roumie as he explores the impact Jesus Christ had on the world throughout history and how the great weight of playing the Son of God has impacted Roumie himself.
The four-episode docuseries takes viewers around the world visiting iconic sites in Rome, Paris, and more, while notable names such as Brandon Flowers, Alice Cooper, Matt Fradd, Francis Chan, and Sheila E. also share their stories of the role Jesus plays in their lives.

Dear Jonathan: I just completed watching the first two chapters of “Jonathan and Jesus” (and look greatly forward to seeing chapters 3 and 4)! Oh my goodness! It is a work of art and so masterfully produced in every way! Hearty “BRAVOS!” and “BRAVAS!” to all involved in its creation and production! I see not only the theme of complete surrender to the Lord but also the work of unity in the body of Jesus happening all over!! The Lord is smiling and rejoicing over you and your team!! Most important that you don’t fall into the idea of fame/popularity, pleasure/wealth……There’s so much people outside of the circle you’re living in right now that needs help in every aspect of life (mental/physical/spiritual). Praying that you could include in your purpose to reach out in other ways in addition to what you’re doing now. Pray for guidance. Pls let Jonathan read this.

I so love the depth of Jonathan's truth. It does not go unnoticed that his brillian protrayal of Jesus, comes from his deep abiding faith. Sometimes we think that if we believe in God, follow Jesus, that Our life is going to chill out and we will be in some kind of unicorn movie. HA! I have found the surrender to the unknown of what He has for me is some of the most challenging experiences of my life. Surrender is the boots on the ground of trust and faith for me. There is no loafty final resting on earth, HA! Now the real work of His Love Begins.

I have that attitude too I give it up to him job, financial obligation and looking after my sick husband for 5 years is very hard my me. am by my self . that was it I pray morning and night or when ever I needed HIM.

I've been a follower of Jesus for over 40 years.. but my brother, your portrayal of Jesus has revived my passion, love, and relationship with Him! 🥹😭🙌🏽💕 And it came at a poignant time when I began to question The Church. The Holy Spirit is truly working in this series, and I strongly believe MANY are seeking and coming to Christ through this medium. Thank God for Dallas J. and this ensemble cast for giving us fresh wind into the Gospel story, reviving, breaking, and restoring hearts! It was developed for such a time as this. 💖

Have you ever met & talked to Jim Cazivel? I'm sure I spelled his last name wring, sorry. I absolutely was surprised at his role, I loved the movie & I heard him talk about things that happened while he was doing the movie. It's really interesting to see these during various events, like premieres and when you're leading the rosary prayer. As a fellow Catholic, I'm quite intrigued by the story behind these symbols. Obviously I am a great fan of The Chosen and I loved the docu series Jonathan but my heart aches for you and I am a little concerned the damage fame may cause you personally. I was particularly struck by the comment Alice Cooper made about one of my alI time heros Elvis.Fame destroyed him and my heart breaks for him to this day.So. I will pray for you my friend. If you were not sensitive and empathic you could not portray Jesus but that very sensitivity makes you vulnerable with the immense weight of your fame. Take care love x BTW I was moved to tears with the personal recording you shared of receivng your 4 checks in May 2018.I heard you tell your story in 2020 on your video channel but to witness the reality brought me to tears God Bless you love.

Please know that I got lost from Jesus. I am sorry if I listened or looked at falseness. I am sorry I heard something in my spirit and words were put into my mouth. This nation showed no mercy but I pray that this will change. I am sorry to my family. I am sorry to God and Jesus. The sin was great and my arms furiously threw out the computer. The myth on the computer must have been bad and part of the past as I asked God what happened when doctors wouldn't help. Thousands were given to these doctors and they did nothing. I believe this was not going to give mercy. I had to deal with sin. I am sorry David and Anna and Landon. I am so sorry. This was over my head. Bad things happened to us. I know what I heard and I am trying to work on that but the intense anger is beside me. I want so badly to be forgiven. If I need to publicly apologize, I will. If you could have witnessed the destruction of my son's body with unclean spirits you would have cried and cried and never ever stopped. How dare this happen to him. This was not good and I called upon the brothers of Israel and maybe. I should not have done this. Plain mercy would have worked at many places in the eight years but NONE was shown. This person was made to suffer and no one would listen. This should have been me. I am sorry for words spoken in a panic. Please forgive me. I lost my children.
