Home to what was once one of the world’s largest mines of its kind, the former town of Asbestos in Quebec, Canada found its very name tied to a subject of global concern - a natural resource widely considered a public health risk. Renamed Val-des-Sources in 2020 in a bid to break free of negative connotations following the mine’s closure in 2012 - which marked the end of Canada’s asbestos mining industry - the town has begun to reshape its identity, while still living alongside the cavernous ghost of the excavation site around which it was built.…read more at nowness.com

I'm from Montréal, Québec. I love to hear my mother's tongue on here. At 3:10, the man says "Là j'me suis ennuyé de ma mère", which translate to "at that time I missed my mother" rather then "I was in my mom's kitchen". Quelle beauté ce court-métrage. Merci.

I really love how the voice audio is really clear and the natural sound of the environment there. The scenery and scenes fit the video progression just fine. Cinematography and audio is well done and I appreciate it alot

This is a 3-4 minute compilation of comments from locals, stretched-out to 16 minutes by inserting looooooooong pauses between comments. I was researching this because I wanted to know more, since I live nearby. But I couldn't make it to the end. Too loooooooooong for almost no information.
