Nobody in the private sector has to take out a loan to pay for our military. If our government were to pay for your healthcare, then you would be less likely to have to take out a loan to pay for new car tires. Or whatever. Because you would never have to pay your doctor, thus saving dollars. Also, a gold standard in no way restricts banks from making a loan.
