What's your favorite Deep Purple album? Let me know down below!

Deep Purple In Rock, of course. I like a lot of the more recent albums. The other albums I consider strong are Fireball, Machine Head, Perfect Strangers and Perpendicular. I don't care much for the Coverdale era as he brought more of an R&B style to the band. Hence, RB's Rainbow was formed.

Id rival the first few Rainbow albums against a majority of my list. It’s all good stuff, tho.

My favourite is usually "Burn" and least favorite is "Abandon". I do like "Come taste the band" because it has great songs, production is good, nice groove but absolutly "hate" Bolin slide guitar... it just tears my brain apart (in a bad way!)

Great rankings! My favorite Deep Purple album is In Rock, because I just LOVE "Child in Time". That song is epic. I don't own anything by other lineups beside the Mark II lineup, but I am interested in checking out Burn. I think I stayed away from Burn because I absolutely despise Whitesnake, so I wanted no part of anything with Coverdale. I'm willing to revisit that album now on Spotify and purchase it if I like it.

Thanks Laura! Child In Time is an all timer for me. I’d definitely recommend Burn… I think it offers some similarities to early Whitesnake in a sense that it’s funkier and blusier, but combined with the talents of Blackmore, Lord, and Hughes it has its own charm.

Come Taste the Band at 21??😱 I’ll admit it takes a few listen to get into this cause it doesn’t feel the same without Blackmore. I’ve personally come to appreciate it for what it is. It really is an extension of the Stormbringer album just without Ritchie. Tommy Bolin is no Blackmore just for me he hold his own. Songs like Drifter, Deale, Lovechild would be classics if not for this incarnation of Purple couldnt last due to Tommy Bolin and Glenn Hughes drugs. You keep on moving is my personal favorite from the album

@@TheCDGuyJZ I respectfully disagree with that assessment. I think everyone is in full form, (at least on the album). It’s a lot more soulful and funky compared to earlier releases. Some have even compared this to early Whitesnake, even tough I don’t agree with that cause Tommys Playing elevates it. Is this musical style that of course prompted Blackmore to leave to leave, citing he didn’t want to play this “shoeshine music” maybe one day you’ll get into it. Who knows? I respect your ranking, even tough I personally don’t agree with it

My top 5 are: 05) Fireball 04) Burn 03) Perfect Strangers 02) In Rock 01) Machine Head Honorable Mention: Slaves and Masters (not a bad Rainbow album) I agree with you on King Of Dreams. It's a Stone Cold Classic and I feel like it completes Joe's dream trilogy. Street Of Dreams (Rainbow), Dreaming (Yngwie J. Mamlsteen), and King Of Dreams (Deep Purple). Joe told a story in a recent interview about how visions of a woman's face from a dream he had, inspired him to write Street Of Dreams. I think the other two are about the same woman. He said he saw her in the crowd at one of his shows in 2007 almost 24 years later and married her. She's his wife to this day!

They don’t argue about tastes, especially since everything is extremely honest and sincerely said. I'm just giving my opinion too. I don't actually rank albums by number, but there are preferences. Absolutely agree with the first number - this is a great album. And here is the second most overrated album from this group for me. Burn was an attempt after the experimental WDWTWA to repeat the success of the previous album and release the second Machine Head, but you can’t step into the same river twice and although the album is decorated with a great title track and great riffs or melodies sound in places, but in fact the other 6 songs are nothing remarkable, and A 200 is a filler, made up of old Mark 1 instrumental pieces, for me Stormbringer sounds more sluggish, but a more honest album, and not an attempt to sound like a more successful predecessor. I also don't like the double vocals on the hard rock album, besides the fact that the new singers bring in too much funk and soul, the vocal harmonies make it all sound too poppy. If I had a rating, Burn would not have entered the top ten. What can I say, is it noticeable that Hughes and Coverdale are not my favorite singers?
