Hello Zac, thanks for the video, just wanted to expound even a bit further on the crazy story that led me to the greatest overdrive pedal of all time. I actually owe all the credit to the legendary Mike E 2/10/20

I was led astray on the story of you selling them from the stage. My apologies!! I will make a correction in the description and a future episode. Love the fact that you were giving them to your friends. Thank you for the response. Zac

I hadn't seen this, but a response vid with a large size box of fruit loops on the table is the coolest thing I've ever seen this guy do without a guitar.

Funny you should mention Mike E's Guitar Ranch. Man, what a throwback! I would have been like 10 years old in 1993 and I used to go hang out there in the mid to late 90s and learn about gear from Mike. Growing up in Lavergne there weren't a lot of 'cool' places to hang - but that was a pretty good little hidden treasure. He was a character! I bought my first vintage amp from him (an old Gretsch 1x15), first pedal board set up (in my case he led me to the Dano Daddy-O as an affordable OD), and one those 1990s Danelectro u2 reissues. Of course he loved the Dr Z amps. Neat times... and Tom, you are one of my all time favorite guitarists so it's cool to have this connection there!

Buk took me to Mike E's in 1995 to get a Nobles and I've never looked back. Best overdrive of all time IMHO

I bought mine at a flea market in Sonoma County CA for $25 about fifteen years ago. It's still on my board and my favorite OD pedal by far.

Mike closed the store when he sold the building several years ago. You can catch up with him at the blue bear barn broadcasts he does on Saturday nights on FB.

I’ve got the Karma ODR-10 and it’s supposed to be dead on accurate. I don’t know but it’s absolutely the most incredible pedal I’ve ever played.

It doesn't surprise me too much to hear Mike E was responsible for this. His store was full of everything that sounded great, and it didn't matter if that was a 1960 AC15 for a lot of money, or a $40 ODR-1. He was a great Guide mores than a salesman.
@Livelaughlimpbizkit2 жыл бұрын
Is that made in Germany thing cap? They were selling the Ram or Rino whatever they called it which was the same company and an ODR-1 guts just with a different graphic on the housing and those were made in South Korea, this was around 1990ish I'm told. Unless they had multiple factories, I'd assume it'd be way more expensive to be made in Germany at that time vs South Korea tho?

Did you order a Nordland ODR-C yet? ;-) Custom built by the same guy who designed the ODR-1...but I`m sure you know already. Cheers!
