Falconry: Took a bit of a drive south to see if I could find some sage grouse for my gyrkin.
These are my daily hawking excursions (the good, the bad and the ugly) with Clyde, a nine-times intermewed gyrkin, and Astro, my English setter. Because of the risk of Avian Influenza I did not hawk ducks in the 2022-23 season. Instead I concentrated all my efforts on hawking sharptail grouse and Hungarian partridge, with the occasional flight on homing pigeons when a slip on wild quarry wasn’t forthcoming.
Thanks for watching!
