With a wild food festival on the horizon , The Fiordland Boys Hunting NZ search for an animal for the table. Can they pull off a chamois and deer in a day?

Thanks Steven, it was good fun alright! The food festival has been postponed unfortunately but all the meats in the freezer ready to go!

About how old is that chamois. I shot one that looks similar size. Folded the whole animal up and put it in the meat shelf on my destroyer pack.

Hard to say, but I’d put it at 1.5-2.5 years? Nice one man, those meat shelfs are great aye, what did you do with your chamois ? Roasts?

@@Fiordlandboys mostly steaks. Whole back streaks. Roast the front legs and mince the rest. Chamois mince on nachos is pretty high class nachos in my opinion.

Nice one mate, Chamois mince nachos! Definitely going to give that a whirl! To make it go further for the wild foods we were going to mince it and make chamois Pattie’s.
