Advances in technology are providing new ways to listen and enjoy music. But could a recording and playback format from the past be making a comeback?

Dominic! Awesome they did this spot - I would pop over to NRS on my weekends to pick up RTM reels for 24-track analog sessions up in the Hudson Valley. Also bought a bunch of cassettes from him. I still have and proudly wear my NRS shirt. Keep doing what you’re doing, Dom!

Cassettes are cool they are relatively inexpensive to produce. I feel that they'll always be around. Vinyl is way too expensive for me. Next to CDs, cassettes are a lot of fun. Long live the cassette!

Never understood the concept of 1 7/8 IPS being able to produce high fidelity... that speed was only meant for dictation / voice recordings, or computer programing... every audio engineer will tell you 7 1/2 or 15 IPS is the best in analog audio reproduction... wonder what a master tape recorded at 1 7/8 ips and pressed onto vinyl would sound like?

It'd sound like Springsteen's Nebraska album, among others.

That's the wonderful thing about cassettes, with good tapes and good decks to record them on, they sound far better than one would suspect (and cost a LOT less than the R2R machines and tapes)!
