NicSasha there are 2 uses for it. its a shift only adapter, not a tilt. Tilt is to change the focus plane and make things blur in a different way. first if you are shooting buildings you can make them straight in-camera and retain the full quality of the photo. if you straighten them in a software you will end up cropping the photo and losing quality and your original framing composition second use you can take multiple photos at diferent shift positions and stitch them to make a picture taller or wider and retain the same camera angle. usually when you move the camera to take multiple pictures and stitch in software you would need to crop the borders hence again losing quality you end up with a different photo conposition than what you had intended when shooting. by using an adapter you can test many different lenses with different focal length at minimal cost. usually tilt-shift lenses are limited to only 17mm, 24mm and 90mm and they are expensive, heavy and big to carry as for vintage lenses, they tend to have a more filmic look they have less contrast and are less sharp than modern lenses that can make things look more digital. they are cheap, small and light

APS-C has an advantage in using full frame lens wit an tilt-shift adapter. Any lens that covers 35mm sensor could be used on APS-C cams as a tilt-shift lens. Kipon T-S (or shift only) adapters are good.

i don't think focusing is bad, but i question why he keeps using it when it always overheats on him. it's not even published in 4k, so why does lok put himself in that situation all the time. looks like a sony rx100 this time

CS No the a7S II don't overheat that badly. The one overheated in this video was the GX800/GX850/GF9. The a7S II could overheat in Hong Kong summer under the sun after like 15 mins before the latest firmware. Using the latest firmware it haven't been overheated yet

Hi Alex, the Kipon shift adapter allows me to use it as a shift lens on the A7rII, with 8-10mm of vertical shift in landscape orientation. :)

Darren, did you try out both the 50mm 1.8 AIS and 1.4 AIS, or is it just the 1.8 that has this large image circle? Thanks in advance!

Vincent Sorry for the late reply, I'm not usually logged in here. No I haven't tried the 1.4 yet but all versions of the 1.8 up to the AFD work great for me. Of course the older the lenses the more chance of flare so I would still use one that is properly multi coated.
