When I saw Ian Poulter getting interviewed about his clubs at Sony, He said “I don’t know what I’m using, I use what ever makes me hit it straight and long”

@@ryosukeasai4969 I just saw Jon Rahm's bag review. Jon said the samething Poulter and Justin said. I think they really do know but don't want to talk a lot about shaft details. Probably cooler for them to say..'whatever they make for me so I can hit it long and straight.'

He like Brooks Koepka, he is NOT a gear head. He has no clue what's in his bag. He didn't even know the flex or make of his iron shafts! Oh, my.

JT is one of my absolute favorites but I don't really buy it. I think he knows exactly what's in his bag. Same goes for Keopka. How could they do this for a living and have absolutely no interest or idea what they're using. All the years of grinding to get on tour and they never cared enough to learn about shafts or grinds ect? It just sounds cooler to not care what you're hitting.

@@wesleyburgess31 Maybe more to the fact they have a team of club fitters figuring that stuff out for them, and that gear has very very little to do with success in golf except around the high skill margins (and even then). With all of the vast improvements in equipment the last 30 years the average amateur handicap has dropped by what, 1 stroke? Equipment contributes very little to success in golf, as it should.

Coreadrin 100% Mark made a video about why most people aren’t getting better because they are too busy worrying about shafts and grinds. He knows his clubs because he can feel it. He doesn’t care about what the manufacturer says the shaft does. He trusts his own instincts and feel and he should. He’s currently one of the best 10 golfers on the planet.

He is generous enough to give him interview an interview and he doesnt even let him talk and explain things. So annoying to watch. Its like he doesnt even care what he says he just wants to get the questions in so he can go to the next guy and get another interview in. Pretty rude.

Went to a golf school a few years ago, run by Paul Thomas ( aka) PT, Justin’s grandpa. A very fine teacher, classy man and terrific player. Justin’s dad is also a PGA pro. PT always talked about respecting other players by avoiding slow play and keeping your cool. Justin has a proud family behind him.

friedgames yup I use XSTIFF on all my clubs 9 iron goes about 150-156, 7 iron goes 170-180 6 iron 189-198,

J.T. is one of the "nice kids" on tour these days. I love that about him, Jordan, Rickie and actually quite a few others. Johnny Miller has often talked about great players not being very "chummy" and he is correct for the times he was on tour. However, nowadays these guys are chummy and that is fantastic. They all realize how lucky they are to be playing a game they love for a living and having the opportunities they have. IMHO the tour has never been better. I've been playing golf since 1957 and watching the pros almost all my life. J.T. is a perfect example of a young man who is not only a champion golfer but also a champion human being. It's really a shame all sports aren't like golf and that is the reason I don't watch all sports. When you've spent your life watching athletes compete and actually call penalties on themselves, it's pretty hard to watch some of the other sports where cheating seems to be OK. Great job on the interview, Mark.

A Top_10 Pro in the world who: - isn't sure what shafts are in his irons - doesn't use a bladed 4 iron - doesn't use a 3 wood off the fairway What's next, getting him to use two 5 irons? I now look at people with 4 & 3 irons in the bag as insane
