I finally figured out why EVERYTHING he plays sounds SO fking GOOD.His interpretation of the piece is most times way better than the orig because beside his technical skills,he accents and tells a percussive story of the song without words.A true musical ARTIST!!!

This is exactly what I was saying. In the short version of this it was 32nd notes all over the place. In this video, he used the 32nds in the pre chorus tom groove to build intensity towards the chorus. Perfection

I’ve noticed that too! And yes! You can ABSOLUTELY over play something. Well my nephew has shown some of the shit he likes and it’s like 16ths @ 200bpm 🤣 It’s NOT for mua We’ll It’s probably due to the fact that he has already shown us that he is literally one of the most talented and fore SURE, one of the most entertaining drummers in the world!? I really like the ostinato between the hi-hat and that mini china/stack in the verses and the bridge. It really creates a feeling of a clock ticking and it really drives the beat.

This song is one of the few I have come across over the years that tends to carry itself, making it easier to play along with for a beginner and progress until you've got it nailed down. The groove carries you into the next bar soo well. Nice jam.

Just scrolling through the comments. I grew up and started playing Linkin Park and when I mastered it my Drum Teacher recommended another band I forget who, but that feeling of "holy crap this is a whole new level and I'm only doing 1 extra thing". That was 20+ years ago and your comment makes me realize how genius that guy was... but it was either that or my little sister playing ringette so no more lessons.

This may be my favorite cover yet by the GrooveFather. Obviously the chops are there to overplay to an insane degree, but I appreciated the slightly more restrained approach that favored style and feel over outright speed in places. Always amazing stuff, and this is some of the best yet!

I saw The Used at a festival and it hadn’t rained all day, until they covered Shadow Of The Day and dedicated it to Chester. It rained for the song, and then the rain stopped. It spooked everyone there. It was beautiful. Music moves us, it always will.

Sir, you never disappoint and your song selection is great. I’m sure you get lots of suggestions but I have one that I think could be fun and maybe even a little challenging. The song is “The Last Relapse” by All Shall Perish. In my opinion it’s one of the best songs ever written, and the drums make that song. I’ve never seen a drum play through of it and I think it would be amazing. Even for the people who don’t like that kind of music they could certainly appreciate the drums.
