my respect for this man knows no end. I have two degrees in music and have studied a lot of composers/types of writing and this dude NAILS it. The Saw X soundtrack that was just released is absolute perfection. He's innovative, smart, utterly creative, and adds SO much to these films. Music is so integral to the success of a film. Bravo!!!!

14:50 heh, yet it's the past! Legato transitions in sample libs are not exactly new. I guess if you haven't ever used any it would seem amazing. The phrases in these libs are more realistic because it's one recording (some legato patches have oddities in timbre from one note to another because they are separate recordings). Pretty loyal franchise to have him do ALL 10 movies. Respect.

i was listening to the score literally straight after i saw the movie last night because i wanted to fully listen to it on its own since i'm studying classical composition and thought it'd be a great idea to passively analyse on the way home. it turned out to be the best idea there are specific rhythms that set my brain into hyperactive *i fucking love this and would kill for this* mode when it comes to the relationship of pitch/instrument qualities and patterned rhythm in film and classical music (which is why minimalism is my favourite classical style). the percussion part that Clouser went into talking about in this video with the metal striking and the panning was one of those moments. i heard it and it literally- instinctually flipped a switch from "damn this is good, the score is so etherial and magical while still keeping the essence of the other movies' traps scores" to *"omfg wtf best choice ever actually genuinely genius going to text my friends right now about this and listen nonstop until tomorrow morning while i am asleep too"* i have a definite feeling that there's going to be many tracks from this score going to go into the stim music part of my brain. sat right up there with the Angler and Trader themes from Inscryption; genuinely congratulations, Clouser, you found the tism switch
