I arrived in Kosovo from Bulgaria the long way, entering from neighboring North Macedonia since Kosovo’s border with Serbia was essentially closed.
Years of ethnic and religious fighting leading to Kosovo’s self-declared independence from Serbia in 2008 has left deep scars here, even as United Nations peace-keeping troops continue their vigil for a third decade.
As you’ll see from the video from the lovely and historic city of Prizren-the first of two from Kosovo-the result is an uneasy peace that exudes both hope and fragility.
