This lovely tag was created one year ago by Simone ‪@seemownay‬ and Liane ‪@lianelikes‬, and they decided to reboot it for its first anniversary to see how people's thoughts and answers may have changed. You can see the full playlist at • #8penquestions One-Yea... .
The video before mine in the schedule is by Gailyn ‪@fountainPENdulum‬, which you can watch at • the THEN & the NOW - F... . The one coming after mine is by ‪@KenchanKrafts‬, which is at • Reflecting on My Fount... .
Though this video is going live at 6 AM on 30 March, I filmed it on 29 March. There was no violation of Shabbos involved in the production or uploading of this video!
The eight questions:
1. When and how did your Fountain Pen Journey begin?
2. Favorite inks in the beginning? What are your go-to inks now?
3. How have your ink and pen tastes changed over time?
4. Are there inks and pens that you have yet to try but would like to?
5. What is your Holy Grail Pen?
6. How many pens do you currently own?
7. Do you have a limit on pens (or inks) in your collection? Is it a number? Is it a feeling? When do you know that you have reached your maximum?
8. Consequently, what would you do if another pen/ink came along?

Thank you for sharing your fountain pens. I loved the story of the Montegrappa. It is so beautiful.

Montegrappa pens are such lovely works of art. If I ever become a millionaire, I'm definitely buying some.

Hi from Israel 💙 My very first fountain pen was that purple Lamy (limited edition 2020) that I purchased from Goulet Pens. But I started really using fountain pens at the beginning of 2023 with journaling.

It seems like a lot of people get started with Lamy. They're my father's favorite brand, even though he has pens that are much more expensive.

Those Leonardo pens are stunning! I have several chronic illnesses that I have really been struggling with. They have been keeping me from using my fountain pens (to long in-between writing, not enough stamina to clean and fill, etc.) I look forward to eventually being able to write with them again. So many f. pens are a work of art! Loved seeing some of your favorites! ~Nashelle

Leonardo is probably my favorite brand so far. Not all of their designs are my style, but they're all so beautiful and thoughtfully made.

Welcome to the fountain pen community! I‘m looking to get an Opus 88 this year as well. It‘ll be my first eyedropper pen. My favorite inks at the moment are dusty pinks and pinkish browns, but generally, I love all colors. I guess it depends on what I‘m in the mood for. Thank you for sharing! By the way, April has 30 days, so it’s time for 30 inks in 30 days! Maybe you‘ll join us too.

I'm definitely interested in the April hop! April is a busy month for me, since I do the Blogging from A to Z April Challenge with two blogs (all posts written in advance) and have to visit lots of other bloggers participating. But since I'm not doing April Camp NaNoWriMo, I'll have more free time for other things.

I love how much enthusiasm you have when you're showing off your pens. It seems like you and I both have a nice connection with our fathers and our fountain pen hobby 😊 I got a collection of pens from my father, they weren't my first though

My father later gave me another orange pen he didn't use anymore, a Conklin. He had to show me how to dissemble and clean the first pens he gave me, refill a cartridge, and reassemble the pen several times before it became second nature. Now that I mostly use converter pens, it's so much easier.

@@Ursulas_Odds_and_Sods that's so lovely he taught you how to do all that. Team cartridge here as well!

Thank you for sharing your pen journey. Your 5 subject notebooks are incredible! Seeing those bring back so many fond memories of using them (mostly with ballpoint pens!). It’s interesting to hear how great they are. I love pilot iroshizuku inks as well, and have been slowly trying more of them after falling in love with the different blue inks I tried last year.

I've heard good things about the CVS notebooks made in Vietnam, but I have yet to try them. From my third journal, Cecilia, onwards, I've always used a 5-subject CVS notebook, and later used a Mead 5-subject because the price on CVS notebooks had gone up. Since I name my journals, being with them for a long time over so many pages and at least a year and a half builds a kind of bond I couldn't get from something I filled up in a few months.

I just found you. Subbed. Interesting video. I love Lamy pens-as you say, great work horse pen. Also Twisbis. They hardly ever fail or skip or hard start. I was a very half-hearted pen collector until a month or so ago. Now, I’m in Learn Mode and am getting serious. I just purchased a Platinum 3776 shape of heart in black-great deal on EBay and last month, an Esterbrook Estie Winter White. I love white pens. This month I bought a Creepy Little Skulls pen from Shibui North. (I love Halloween, too!) I haven’t gotten it yet, but I’m impatiently waiting. I am most intrigued by that pen you held up with the skulls on it. I’m going to have to get a closer look! I’m just starting to experiment w inks as well. So far, I like an EF, F or Stub 1.1 nib. But the stub still surprises me. I never thought I’d like anything that big. But I’m trying to teach myself calligraphy and that nib size helps! Thanks for reading all this babble.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Cult Pens still has some remaining Día de los Muertos pens, though I assume there are only a few left by this point.

I really enjoy it when props are used to showcase what is being discussed. Just to let you know if you come across Lamy Bronze ink, it is NOT a bronze color. It's a nice orange, but bronze it is not. If you like a really smooth writing experience you'll really like Pelikan. It's my second favorite pen behind another pen you mention; OMAS. But not the new revived omas. no, no, no. I just watched the PBS documentary, Dante: Inferno to Paradise. I see Dante's works in your bookshelf behind you. Very nice video.

Lol I actually prefer darker green inks, even though I have one of my pens currently inked with Rohrer & Klingner Alt-Goldgrun. You might like that ink because it's a medium toned ink. Thanks for sharing your FP journey!

Lovely video. Purple is my favorite! What has been your favorite purple ink so far? Blues and greens are my second faves. I have one Leonardo pen and I love it so much. I havent tried Benu yet, but I think that’s my next purchase 🤩
