This is very first journey of the all-new Iryo High-Speed Train for the general public; Train No. 06061 was leaving Madrid Atocha at 06:45 and was arriving in Barcelona Sants at 09:15 in the Morning on Friday, November 25, 2022; Travel time is exactly 2 hours and 30 minutes for the distance of about 630 km; The train rides over the Madrid - Barcelona High-Speed Railway with a maximum speed of 300 km/h; Iryo is a joint-venture of Air Nostrum, Trenitalia and other companies; A Hitachi ETR 1000 high-speed trainset is operating this service; This type runs as "Frecciarossa" brand between Milano and Rome in Italy; Travel Class is Infinita Bistro (First Class); Iryo is competing with RENFE (AVE, Alvo) and SNCF (OUIGO) on the Madrid - Zaragoza - Barcelona route

Hi! I was one of the drivers of that train. To the questions you ask in the video: 1. Haizea means “wind” in basque, 2. The VIP they were filming on your coach is Simone Gorini, CEO of the company and 3. The mountain ridge we cross approaching Barcelona is called Montserrat. Glad you enjoy our first trip, it was a pleasure and an honor having you all on board!

@jacopomainoldi9025
@jacopomainoldi9025 Жыл бұрын
@Paseos por Madrid I can prove these trains are designed to operate on European Lines not Italy or Spain singularly. Now, since in Italy we do have these trains, which are excellent and way better than those used in Spain (even the design it's an all win game), I've never experienced a similar issue, instead of Trenitalia's competitor Italo which was less comfortable. Now, or it was that coach/seat with a particular issue, which is strange for a brand new train undergoing multiple tests, or it was a part of the line with a poor maintenance. As I said, you cannot prove it was the train only. PS I have been to Spain more than you have come to Italy, I'm 99% sure about this. Unless you've lived for years in Italy...

Hi. Thanks for the beautiful video. I would like to make a clarification. In the past this train was originally called ETR-400. Trenitalia called him '"Frecciarossa 1000" (to differentiate the new train from the older ETR-500) but people confused the name "1000" as the name of the train itself, so in the end Trenitalia officially renamed it ETR-1000. The Spanish train, however, is no longer ETR-1000 but ETR-109 as you can see from the muzzle to minute 0:02 (in this case this is the ETR-109 train number 8).

@@horeally1150 so what about train’s suspension system? As I am originally from Sri Lanka where island’s railways have certain length of very badly maintained tracks on its main line, I have experienced a better ride quality on board some trains equipped with modern suspension systems (yet not as sophisticated as high speed trains & no where near to a high speed track system) Simply this can’t be only the track! 🙄if so I wonder how other high speed trains are doing on the same stretch!
@CityWhisperer
@CityWhisperer Жыл бұрын
@@jacopomainoldi9025 Newly built trains can also come with manufacturing defects. There’s a reason as to why there were Hitachi staff on board the train. It could even be an issue with just that specific carriage from that specific train. Maybe that specific seat wasn’t correctly placed. Maybe it’s a mix of many factors. Some things just can’t be detected until you start with real commercial runs.

The mountain ridge at 14:33 is called Montserrat. There, a wood statue was found, which became the saint patron of Catalunya. As for the shaking of the train, it is unavoidable, as the tracks themselves are horrible. You've seen it in other videos riding RENFE's AVE, and I 'm convinced you could put the best Shinkansen trainset there, and it would still seem like a washing machine on a spin cycle. It is that bad.
@horeally1150
@horeally1150 Жыл бұрын
Wow didn't know the high-speed track is that bad. Looking at the images of the tracks they look in great condition and the infrastructure modern. I've travelled Milano-Firenze and Roma-Firenze high speed lines and never had this kind of shake with the Frecciarossa 1000. Perhaps a sway or two. You'd think the Italian tracks would be worse especially Rome-Florence which is the oldest and most heavily used.
@CityWhisperer
@CityWhisperer Жыл бұрын
The tracks are far from being "horrible". The line is barely 15 years old and undergoes quite some preventive maintenance. Siemens trains, which are the ones used by Renfe, can run perfectly fine. In other Iryo trip reports, notably Simply Railway's report, the shaking is barely noticeable. So it's either this specific seat itself or the carriage which comes with some defect.

Chinese introduced high-speed rail technology from Europe 20 years ago, but now, in my opinion, their high-speed train technology is already ahead of Europe. At least China's high-speed train runs very smoothly. If you stand a coin on the table, the coin will not move all the way. and the business coach of China's high-speed train can be compared with the business class of Emirates Airlines, but the price is the same as that of Europe.

What a ridiculous comment, if you operate once you can operate all. Those defects I guess are referring to the famous Fyra. Always the same 10 year old story. I'm probably a black sheep but I hate this train: I know the Italian version very well and it doesn't change much compared to this one. The seats are practically identical and are quite stiff, especially in second class/standard class and the biggest problem are the lights which create a dull and sad atmosphere in the evening (fortunately, however, on ETR 500/600/610/700 it is not Like this). Plus it's quite noisy especially when you sit at the ends and the worst thing is that in Italy we don't have Avlo, Ouigo or InOui except for the routes to France which however are now also operated by these awful trains. If we now start exporting this high-speed model as well, my dream of traveling in comfort will be ruined. I would like a different high speed, on the French or Polish model: Not too elegant but with comfortable seats and essential services with at most a welcome snack in first class and, in parallel, a low cost high speed service, something in which instead Italy seems to go in the opposite direction (eliminating the Frecciargento and aligning it with the Frecciarossa). I know that Italo exists in Italy but compared to the Frecciarossa it changes very little, the seats are a little more comfortable and on the recent models (ETR 675) the light is different while on the older ones (AGV 575) the same problem as the Frecciarossa 1000
