i first saw this movie on my copy i bought and after the film, i replayed this 'only' part over and over like 10 more times. it just hit me i am not sure why.

Alice Inspirit Even though Ellen Page came out, we can still respect and love her as an actress and a human being. And I think that with our imaginations running wild, we can assume that these two will get together. I mean, after all, he suggested the kiss and she had a surprised but pleased expression on her face afterward.

Apparently this scene was improvised. They kept the take, so I take it to mean that Arthur flirted a little with Ariadne, whether they get together or not is up to viewer interpretation.

@@blepbloopbleeplop9966 I always figured that on jobs like this, Arthur doesn't have much time to find a woman. His job takes up so much time that he gets it where he can. For all the crap he gives Eames about being emotional and nondescript, Arthur himself seems to act impulsively as well. It's an interesting layer to the character.
