For context: This is in Northern Ireland (and stop comparing it to how police responds to your country). Jen, the police officer who had to step out and do the checks is the daughter of the head of the police department she's in. She's more senior to the girl in the car. However, she really doesn't like being in the field doing response, and is always quite terrified when she's out in the field. She prefers to do paperwork at the station. She is just waiting to be moved out of the response team. While, the man in the car is the son of a known drug lord in this town, and knows very well how the police force works and how to manipulate especially rookie officers. That's it for this scene. I finished watching the show last weekend, and it does not disappoint. It's easily become one of my favorite cop mini-series this year. 🚔👍

There's a reason why there's usually 5-10 police officers in real life that attend scenes like this. They never know who or what is in the car or on the person they're dealing with

I worked with a number of RUC, they were real hard cases. So were the men.

A very interesting, high-quality series with an exciting plot. Qualitatively it stands out against the background of garbage removed in the last few years.

To be honest, Maurice took a colossal gamble in this scene. He had no idea that someone as weak as Jen would be sitting in the passenger's seat. If Annie had been the one getting out of the car, it would have gone very differently for the gang.

I watched 3 episodes on a long flight recently, great entertainment.

As a Catholic, I was impressed with the show. The cops are the good guys, and the IRA on the other side, both good and bad. The bad guys are the so called "sneaky beakies" James Bond types, above the law, and accountable to no one, and the Ombudsman's Office, who are like Internal Affairs.

Ken was a legend at the pub after that.

We need more 50kg small girls as cops. They are really threatening, especially to 100kg+ guys, or suspicious criminals with weapons. I know its just a movie, but yesterday i saw similar police girl in my city and i just laughed. This isnt respect these officers should be generating. What a clown times we livin in.

Her partner is a complete coward for not stepping out with her to cover, because, there's a reason why cops do that. The jokes on the driver because he's being recorded from the dash cam of their patrol car. Officers should ALWAYS have their body cams on when encountering a potential suspect. Also, when did the public start giving out orders toward police? Doesn't work that way in any country.
