Or how to lean your motorcycle without falling, even at low speed... In this video, I want to show you how much the rotation of the handlebar is important for the balance of your bike, but in the other hand, it counter the lean angle.
Using the Energetic Drivability will allow you to use this rotation to turn tight and fast, but you will have first to trust this phenomene, and second, you will have to master your body to be able to lean the bike without counter-steering :)
If you are interesting about doing a training course with us, don't hesitate to contact :)

I love the explanation that you need perfect body control to be able to let the handlebar rotate. I was always under the impression that I would let my handlebar rotate and wondered why I had these scary moments when the rear of the bike started to fall or the rear tire was slipping. The truth is that I failed to leave the handlebar without force as a light touch is still too strong. But what was not clear to me in the video is the "good" way to increase the leaning speed. If I do not countersteer it takes too long to lean. I often see racers that seem to fall to their sides before the bend and I cannot imagine how they do that without countersteering.

Yes, this is the problem: if you totally release the handdlebar, then, you cannot fall, but the bike is very hard to lean :) At the end, it is question of patience (you don't lean only at the beginning of the turn, but all the time during the turn, like you lean a little bit, and then more, and more...), of trail braking (it helps to lean), and some bikes help you more than some other bikes. For example, sportbikes are lenaing more easy than other bike, thanks to their frame. And bikes who have steer dumper are leaning more easy too. So all the new model of BMW (they all have steer dumper, now) are leaning very easy compared to other older bike :)

I came back from Metz doing the course last weekend and feel like sharing a few words. If you catch yourself watching Anti Pilote de Ligne Droit videos more than twice, it's time for you to plan yourself a trip to France. :) It will be more than worth it, you will learn a lot and acquire fantastic new skills which may also save you from a possible future crash, if you rely solely on countersteering to turn and one day slippery surface betrays you. This is more than just riding a motorcycle, it's about increasing overall awareness and proprioception about you and your body. If you have ever done any martial art in your life, you'll find strong resemblence, it's about finding that fine delicate feel for things and perfecting it. Yes, this is a martial art, and Clément is a sensei. A motorcycle Yoda which will show you your way to become a Jedi knight. :) He'll take you into the deep dark forest where 2+2=5 and you cannot (!) fall of the motorcycle. You'll be up exploring the uncharted territory through a series of challenging tasks and brilliant exercises and each will grab you way out of your comfort zone but at the end you will manage!!! :) Come fit! The body effort needed to lean the motorcycle Japanese style is very tough on your core, as you need to hold your body yourself at all times, so better come as fit as you can, do stability exercises, planks, side planks and push-ups. Come prepared! Study all the major Anti Pilote de Ligne Droit videos so you can ask all the right questions. Take your girlfriend/wife with you! Metz is a beautiful place and France at its best! The closest international airport to Metz is in Luxembourg, which is only 1h train ride away. That's a convenient way to arrive. My advice: take a week off and do two courses on two consecutive weekends!

I’m so grateful for finding this channel. I’ve watched many of your videos now and then went to practice. Within 45 seconds I was doing smooth, tight figure 8’s near full lock. It was easy. Almost immediately I conquered my fear of leaning the bike. Amazing content, thank you! To clarify, use front break heading into the u turn, let up on the front break as you’re turning and then exiting and accelerating? Thank you again! 🙏

Thank you for providing this in English. I know that I fight the rotation of the handlebar because I am afraid to fall and drop my bike, and that is precisely why I can't seem to make the sharp u-turn. So many instructors teach, slipping the clutch, using the rear brake BUT no one tells you that you are just manipulating the geometry of the motorcycle to make the turn. Smooth throttle, brake to shorten the bike, counter steer to initiate a fall (lean) digressively release the brake and allow the handlebar to rotate in the direction of the fall to balance the motorcycle and finally smooth throttle to complete your trajectory. How do you recommend training yourself to do this, basically how to master each step until you can do this safely and confidently.

This is the best video to learn how to do Moto-Gymkhana turns. I was always trying to lean the bike by counter-steering and then tried like a MAD-DOG to turn the handlebars in the direction of where I want to turn. Guess what happens, the moment that I tried to turn the handlebar in the direction of the turn, the BIKE STRAIGHTENS UP straight away and the the turns are wide. This video (You need to watch it 10 times to understand it). It basically tells you to lean the bike WITHOUT counter-steering, so the bike is leaning with both wheels pointing in the same direction (of where you want to turn) and once you slow down (using the front brake) the handlebar is so easy to turn and thus achieve a FULL-LOCK. Use the front brake to carry momentum forward and tap the rear brake as you come out of the turn, while keeping the revs. FANTASTIC MERCI MERCI GREAT VIDEO
@arthurbalado6022
@arthurbalado6022 2 жыл бұрын
One more thing to note. If you are doing the FAST TURNS, just lean your body (and use the pegs) on the same direction of the turn, the centrifugal force will keep the bike upright. However for SLOW TURNS, you need to lean the bike and before turning you need to COUNTER-BALANCE with your body in the OPPOSITE direction as the centrifugal force is a lot less due to the SLOW SPEED. AMAZING VIDEO - C'EST GENIAL - MERCI X 1,000,000
@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroite
@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroite Жыл бұрын
Nice resume, especially the first part of your comment :) in the second part, some things are wrong: we don't use the peg, as it is not enough strengu for higher speed, and we don't counter balance, as it is useless: you can't counter balance a bike, as it is so much heavier than you... the video tried to show you that what is giving you counter balance, is the rotation of the handlebar, that's all: as long as it rotates, the bike self counter balance itself, no matter the speed. And when you are full lock, you are loosing the effect, then you need to play with centrifugal force, by playing gently with the throttle, to increase the speed, but without having to much caster effect...

@@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroiteAccepter & Merci, I use all the elements of the body to lean the bike, starting with 1. Feet (pushing on one side and lifting the other). 2. Butt & Hip leaning in the direction that I want to lean and 3. Shoulders. And then the handle bar can easily achieve full lock. Yes I agree, the pegs are not enough, thus I used every part of the body. By the way I use the bike that no-one uses for practicing Moto Gymkhana. A Ducati Hypermotard 939, which has the worse non-linear throttle control in the world. No Japanese Moto Gymkhana rider will ever use a Ducati (they are not stupid like me LOL!!). They (Ducati) are a Horrible Monster to control at low revs. Merci mon ami :)) Greeting from Sydney Australie

Do you use a throttle lock when doing no hand manoevres like at 13:37? I have tried to do no handed rotations in 1st and 2nd gear but I have the impression that at this speed, the turning radius in a stable turn is really small (my speed was about 15 km/h). I would love some advice on that. Great vids btw!
@AntiPiloteDeLigneDroite

Yes, I increased the idle, then the bike is self accelerating. If not, there is not enough torque, and the trail effect is then too weak, and this makes the front wheel to rotate a lot. For the same speed, if you have more torque, it will rotate less, but lean more :) Maybe this other video can help you too ? kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eLByaquWuNemYpc.html And if you want, we are providing training course: antipilotedelignedroite.fr/fr/accueil/fr/fr/accueil/en/training-courses-2/

So am i doing a right thing when turning, and cornering on the road? Correct me if iam wrong 1. Before turning i set my speed with front brake, zero throttle 2. I counter steer so the bike start leaning still zero throttle but still hold the front brake. no force on handle bars just let it doing his job 3. In the middle of the corner i start give throttle to maintain the speed, increase it little by little as the bends almost to end. (If the bends are tight, and i need to decrease the radius i drag the rear brake but still on the throttle). 4. Then i give more throttle to straighten up my bike on exit corner.
