A few examples of bad body language and reactions to goals against that I see all of the time from hockey goalies in minor hockey! Your body language and reactions to bad plays or goals against is so important as there could be scouts and coaches watching you play. Not only that, but bad body language and reactions on the ice can negatively impact your team and the rest of the game.

"Don't look at the score board. It is 0 - 0. It is ALWAYS 0 - 0. You cannot change what has happened, you can only influence what will happen." Also, goal sticks costs $200+ these days...

As a minor league coach I am definitely had conversations with our goalies regarding the same thing. My son just wrapped up his first season as goalie, and this was one of the first things I've mentioned to him. Short memory, and how to be mindful.

You should have ended the video with the posture and what you like to see out of goalies when they let one in. It sounds dumb but showing what to do is just as important as what not to do.

funny enough ive seen the antonio brown twice this year. once after the oposing goalie let in 10 and the other in our playoff finals when the goalie for the other team stormed off the ice down 5-1 which is funny because they ended up coming back and winning 6-5 with the backup in net

I gave up a bad goal in Germany once and broke my stick. We still one the game but coach had me doing line drills and push ups till i dropped. He told me the same thing. From that point on, on or off the ice i never showed negative reactions.

this is also applicable to life outside of hockey. take the "L" and move on, get better.

Young kids tend to sulk a lot and claim cheating on the other team. It starts at a young age to encourage letting goals go immediately. I always loved how Tim Thomas reacted (most of the time). He'd get out of that net as fast as possible. It was the physical embodiment of letting go of the goal.

I understand why a goalie would do that, believe me, but sometimes showing your frustation to your teamates it might (i said might) make them realize they're not helping, specialy when you're up to your third and fourth save in a row and your D are just standind there beside you in your crease. It also means that he needs to be encouraged, to be supported, a couple of taps on the pads can make a big difference.

yeah tell that to jordan binnington who made it to the nhl. if you are good, you are good. would you prefer a nhl level angry goalie or an optimistic amateur piece of trash?
