March start using the Hanna checker! It’s awesome and easy to use. Takes under 10mins and is more accurate then looking at water for a slight colour change! I switched to one and love it. My nano take with looking at the water colour I thought I was 2-5ppm. With the checker I found out I was almost 15ppm. I clearly can’t tell with the colour change myself!

The Hanna Low Range Nitrate checker is a bit of a pain, but totally worth it if you have sub-5 Nitrates. When you can read your 0.46 nitrate with accuracy, it’s nice. Plus, while you’re raising it slowly… you can actually tell what you’re doing.

Hey March! I have a 75 gallon mixed reef tank and possibly need to start dosing soon. I plan on getting Hanna Checkers for Christmas Which ones would you recommend me getting? I figured the Calcium, Nitrate, alkalinity, and magnesium.

I also read 0nitrates with the salifert but what I do know is that the nutrients are getting used up almost instantly with the Coral, fish and inverts and the coral look healthy & amazing with noticeable growth *knock on wood*. I’m curious to know what your results are with dosing/adding nitrates if it will be the solution to your problems. 🤔

Hanna checkers are amazing. I also verify with salifert cause I don't fully trust any aquarium related electronics but, getting a number instead of a color that doesn't quite match anything on the chart is wonderful

Was going to another one of your competitors (not aquarium depot) because they were closer to me but had a bad experience with the owner blaming prime for a clear bacterial infection that killed a fish and after some digging I see some other sus behaviour with this owner blaming people he thinks don’t know enough to know he’s wrong.

You should try the Nyos test kits....I have a trident and Hanna stuff and I still think the nyos for nitrate/po4 is great and accurate with my recent icp

The API nitrate test kit is awful 😂 But the phosphate, and pH are honestly not bad. A test was ran with the pH one for accuracy, and it’s pretty solid tbh. (But other test kits are obviously a better choice).
