If there's an argument to choose solar over wind, this video captures it. Converting wind energy into electrical power is incredibly labor & resource intensive, requires many moving parts with associated maintenance, and is extremely complicated. Compare to solar: install panels, wire inverters & batteries, wash panels once or twice a year, replace in 20 years or so. Nevertheless, it was a fascinating video! Thanks!

@Leon Wilcox Why does the United States government sell millions of tons of coal to China and India each year? You know the same government that preaches the dangers of burning coal. While President Obama was going coast to coast preaching climate change and the evils of burning coal his administration was selling hundreds of millions of tons of American coal to China and Russia. During his administration China and India built 200 brand new coal power plants. Personally I saw 2 coal trains pass through here on their way to the Texas coast where they will load the coal onto ships to send overseas all with the approval and permission of the United States Government. ?

@Leon Wilcox I can say the same about you. Only I have no reason to "regurgitate" lies. Turbines are 100% made from iron ore, aluminum, copper, plastic, rubber etc which is all created by fossil fuels. That's a fact. They have a 25 year life span and where I'm from we have tons of them everywhere...but...they account for less than 2% of our entire electrical grids capacity at any given time. I'm in Ontario Canada and we have superior electrical knowledge as we supply 1/2 of the electricity our American neighbors enjoy and I can tell you that nuclear power and hydro electric power is what you use to supply power. Not shitty wind turbines that poison aquafers, create noise pollution as well as waste tax payers money on get rich quick skeems like "green energy". It's ok. The juice will wear off in about 20 years when all these turbines die out and nuclear/hydro is still going strong.

Yeah, it's all a big steaming pile. But it's a slightly less steaming pile than if nobody bothered. I think the key is to acknowledge that there isn't just one option available. You're 'allowed' to use shitty technology to produce slightly less shitty technology. And why not? It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Once the turbines are working they're running on a free resource and reducing the need for coal, gas, oil, nuclear, whatever. It's better than nothing. Not perfect, but that's no reason not to try stuff.

Yep. The music's actually offensive! A pity, really. I hope you noticed that my reply to your Comment was written without a musical accompaniment. I was totally naked when I typed it, though. ;-)
