This 1940 Mercury won the best of show award from Ford Motor company at SEMA in 2015.

Unbelievable! I’d love to see it in person and drool for hours. The amount of work to make it look old was probably one of the hardest details. The chop and curved back glass among all the other details. Just incredible! True craftsman!

Uhmm - "extreme attention to detail'? Check 0:25 pause and explain what do you see above the mirror... I guess the "attention" wasn't that great. And it kills that WOW effect, if one comes closer... Yes, they could easily hide that under the pole that splits the front windsheeld in half. EDIT: GREAT project anyway...

I have to agree, perhaps a bit too cool for a production car of the era but definitely something Edsel Ford would have loved and possibly even wanted to build.

This is the most STUNNING custom ride I have seen to date. The ingenuity, design, modifications that went in to this incredible vehicle is a celebration of style unbelievable beauty and dedication to perfection is exemplary.. This would make Chip Foose raise an eyebrow recognizing the WOW factor of this creation. Much respect..

Incredibile how time flies, it seems like it was yesterday when he was building it, yet it's more than 10 years ago. This car will have a place in a museum as one of the most beautiful customs ever built.

Nice machine. The old air cleaner body is a nice touch but the dynamic cowl is a wild idea. I might sit in a parking lot and work the throttle plates for fun. Turning fender skirts, beautiful! The stock looking interior with the wild west mail-pouch door pockets is just plain cool.

I love the idea of the intake vent that opens with throttle position, particularly as it looks like it would be visible from inside the car.

Gorgeous... what makes the difference from a nice car to a great car is the attention to the small details, too. The slight slant in the vent window is just one of the many little things that firmly place this in the great category. My own personal preference is to keep them period correct, but I truly admire and respect your ability to give it the outward look of period correct and mount a rocket under the hood at the same time.

The cowl vent repurposed upgrade was absolutely brilliant IMO. Beautiful car..Not my personal preferences in style. But genuinely admire clever soulutuons and good ideas in building a custom vehical. 😊👍
