I'm a big fan of cinematography and will be a career that I get into in the future. And this inspired me CRAZY. THE COMPOSITION WAS INCREDIBLE.

Thrall sees Anduin's sword shaking and moves himself closer to the sword to give him the message that he is with him and stops the sword shaking. epic.

I NEVER NOTICED THAT WOW. That's an interesting take. I found it as something where he puts himself all-in on vulnerability that Anduin could very well push forward the blade into Thrall, but then says "I trust you". In real life terms, I've always noted that when putting vulnerability and authenticity first, it tends to incite the most beautiful and incredibly loving reactions, which i'm sure a snipbit of that was what the audience felt when Thrall said "I trust you" in the wake of witnessing Anduin be tortured and be totally broken.

You can feel his trauma, great voice acting. Thrall steadying his blade... Amazing.

What's interesting to me is the use of props. Like... if you just made a scene with just anduin there and the close up eye shots at a F1.4 (very shallow aperture), then it would've been interesting. But the detail with the sword adds an element of tension. The use of sound design with the grip and the tightening of his glove then sequencing into the eye shot adds that tension that eventually leads into that spout of broken rage stemming from pure sadness and sorrow. Absolutely just beautiful composition.

@@TheGoldenLight11I think it was important for them to show Shalamayne in this scene, because it is no longer glowing with the Light, further emphasizing Anduin’s isolation… he isn’t even connected to the Light anymore, for the first time in his life. And who better to be in this scene than Thrall, who himself knows what it’s like to lose your connection (in his case, to the elements) Gorgeous graphics, incredible acting, such a wonderfully made & heart wrenching cinematic!

I was almost in tears. I didn't want to in the video. But I def did put a few tears down seeing as though (my own life) draws some parallels with Anduin and how he exploded reminded me of a year ago. Absolutely beautiful.

I agree, it's perfect. And Chris Metzen confirmed there is no motion capture in it, it's 100% CGI, which is amazing! To catch your friend up on the story, here's the cinematics for the entire story from Legion to this one, focusing on the Anduin story. World of Warcraft has done a great job of going back into these and pulling out the story for the new The World Within cinematic. There are 12 of these, I’m giving the title, the name of the channel that has it, and the length of each. Where needed, I also give a quick name to the characters involved. These are not totally in order, there is a change in the in-game order for the Battle for Azeroth cinematics because Old Soldier actually comes before the announcement cinematic in chronology. World of Warcraft Legion Cinematic Trailer-World of Warcraft 4:05 (photo of Anduin as a child in the compass of his father. The big gray worgen is the King of Gilneas, Genn Greymane) Death of Varian Wrynn: World of Warcraft Legion-Tom’s Hardware 4:07 (the man at the end is Genn) Patch 7.2 In-Game Cinematic: A Found Memento: Raising a King-World of Warcraft 2:51 (Anduin is seeing the memories of his father’s death) Sargeras Impales Azeroth Sword Cinematic/Illidan’s Sacrifice-Athelarius 3:35 (how the sword happened-the Titans deal with Sargeras) Cinematic: Old Soldier-World of Warcraft 6:21 (set-up for the war and Anduin’s friendship with Varok Sarfang, the troll is Zekhan) World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth Cinematic Trailer 4:39 (Sylvanas, Genn, Anduin using his priest powers) Cinematic: “Lost Honor” World of Warcraft 3:18 (Anduin, Genn, and Sarfang) Cinematic: “Reckoning” (spoiler) World of Warcraft 4:12 (Sarfang and Thrall. Thrall is a shaman and the retired Warchief of the Horde) Anduin Finale Cinematic/Shadowlands Patch 9.2 Eternity’s End-LeystTV 3:52 (the end of the raid where Anduin finally breaks the Jailer’s hold on him) Sylvanas Windrunner & Anduin Epilogue Cutscene World of Warcraft Patch 9.25 LeystTV 2:45 (Anduin has to go find himself) Which is then connected to this one, the War Within Announce Cinematic that you commented on. Each of these has elements that are echoed in the War Within. It covers 2016 to 2023. Hope this helps.

Unreal comment. I'll be spending an afternoon picking at all this and building the timeline for myself. I only ever catch WoW players wanting to be this much of a help. Bit of a contrast coming from the Rocket League scene. The environment on the game is wildly different.

WHen you see this details.. For a moment at first i though that they made this with a live actor. Honestly they spend shit loads of money to do the Warcraft movie. When actually epopel have been asking for a full animated movie like they do it every Xpacs.
@johnb60118 ай бұрын
So glad they use the mo-cap for these, you can really see the actor's emotions coming through and the overall decision to just do close up shots for most of the scene. They obviously made leaps and bounds in the details and wanted to show it off and damn did they nail it. Thrall's line "Time by itself heals nothing" is like he's speaking to the audience and Anduin. I love the range of emotions in this cinematic, especially when Anduin rages. You can clearly see he was traumatized and his trigger being talking about the Light sets off his PTSD. It reminded me a LOT of Picard in Star Trek when he was taken by the Borg, having your humanity stripped away and being forced to watch helplessly while you kill and do horrible things to your friends and allies, then to discover his lack of faith in the light caused him not to have it anymore must have been an even worse frustration, lost and completely broken. You can see the pain in his eyes and the anger, absolutely stunning how realistic this was. Anduin has always been a fav character for me, I hope they are setting this up like they did Saurfang in BFA, a series of short high quality cinematics showing his journey to reconnect with the light.

That scene you like is very reminicent of (wrath of) the lich king cinematic. Making the paralelle Artas/Andwin broken soul by the same/similar powers.

What's even more interesting is that on Anduin's right shoulder is where Thrall put his hand. Then where we hear King Varian or Tereenas put his hand on Anduin's his left shoulder. It's like visiting that PTSD and then he partly explodes on thrall drawing his sword. One side shows Thrall, the other King Varian/Teerenas

What if i tell you that Azeroth will eventually be the next Outland. A powerfull being will be born from Azeroth's core, and people will have to move, evacuate through new portal into a new world, and you will have the chance (in at least 2 more expantions) to come back to the shattered Azeroth remains...

I swear, if Blizzard had done with WoW what Riot did with LoL (Arcane) then it would be huge.

The movie was already badass and stuck to the storyline of what they originally wrote in the 3 games before the MMO. The material for the lore is also absolutely ridiculous. A movie about Arthas would be fucking insane
