I have issues with my cc showing up 😑 sometimes cc houses will show up and sometimes they won’t. But out of all the cc clothes and builds I’ve downloaded only like 6 work 😑 my mods work fine but I feel stupid when it comes to cc problems 😭 (I have windows)

the infants will only load with occult eyes. Do you know what to do or what file to remove to fix this? I tried shiney eyes, lumina and pulled out all defaults, overrides and the laundry list ea put out. Still the issue persist.

Hello! Hope we can figure things out together!! Did the lag started to be more noticeable after update? Did we remove + update all script mods (aka things that add gameplay features into the game, such as ui mods, life simulation mods and any kind of functional mod)? For the stuck sims situation, I shared a base game fix for that here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m7OWZNWEx6m3gZc.html We can try to do that as well as resetting the Mods folder ^^ I'll write down the steps here so it's easier for you 🤞 1. Let's enable mods&cc in our game > apply changes > close game 2. Rename our Mods folder into Mods old (but keep the Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open sims 4 & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should pop up 5. Copy all of our cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the updates for your script mods - if we DID update the game - (we can check the release date so we can be 100% sure that it's the latest one!) 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder Fingers crossed sth works for us 🤞🙏 let me know!

My better exceptions mod does this thin that, when i try to load a household it drags me to this better exceptions page on Microsoft windows, and it doesn't do the scan in game like yours for some reason, and it shows that a certain mod is making my households not load. Idk what's happening but it scans for hours and hours. Idk what's going on please help :(

Hey there!! We can try to give resetting the Options + Mods folder a try! With our game completely closed, we can try to remove the options/options.ini file from The Sims 4 folder! In regards to resetting the Mods folder, here are the steps ✨️ 1. Allow mods and cc in the game > apply changes > exit game 2. Rename the Mods 📂 into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. Open your game & close it straightaway 4. A new Mods folder should show up in The Sims 4 folder 5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 6. Download the latest versions for your script mods 7. Put your script mods into your new Mods 📂 Fingers crossed sth works 🤞

Heya 🫶🏻 So can we check together if we did this? - unzipped the file if it ends with rar/zip (This means that we need to double click the furniture cc (for Mac/Windows 11)> copy the file(s) that are inside and paste into Mods folder For windows 10 > we need to use a program called Winrar, you probably already know this hihi, but open that file with it > double click on that folder > select your file(s) and drag them into your Mods folder) -placed that furniture cc into the main Mods folder (like this Mods > furniture.package cc NOT like this > Mods > Furniture folder > furniture.package cc If we have that file into a subfolder (aka the Furniture folder), then cut + paste it into the main Mods folder - have the resource.cfg file inside the Mods folder If this does not work for us, resetting the Mods folder always makes a difference for me! But let me know how this goes and we’ll see what we can do about it ❤️

Hey! Some things that has been struggling for me is that I don't have infants as an option in CAS, and when a download a household from a gallery with infants included they are taller than slenderman himself. I also can't feed my pets, like I can't give them food in their bowl idk why, and the "sleep" option isn't there for my sims I know this is because of all my cc and mods but I was just wondering if you know how to spot out what kind of cc / mods that are causing this so I can get my game back to normal. Heya 🫶🏻 Yass, that’s totally due to broken mods & cc! Here’s what always works for me after update: - going into the mods folder - typing in the search field ‘ts4script’ - writing down the names of those mods on a paper (in case we wanna re-download the updated versions & use them in the game afterwards) - deleting all those files that end with ts4script - typing in the same search bar the names of each individual mod (bcs some mods also have some files that end with pacakge- those ones need to be removed as well!) - going into The Sims 4 folder & deleting these files: localthumbcache, options & gameversion Then we can try to open the game & see if it works! PS. we’re gonna need to reenable mods & cc in game options since we’ve reset the options (by deleting that options file) if we wanna use them If we’re still experiencing issues, then we can try resetting the mods folder & the 50/50 broken cc method kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jtuBm82cvKmvkmg.html The timestamps are in comments ☺️, truly hope this helps 🙏

Hey! The better exception mod reaaaally helped me to spot immediately the problem. It’s a mod that when you run a game it scans all your mods and cc and tells you witch one is causing problems. Hope it helps 😊

i keep trying to reset my mods folder by doing the exact same thing your telling me to do by restarting my pc, renaming the mods folder, open and close game, but it wont come up with a new mods folder. I know i dont have a rescourse.cfg file which is the issue but how do i fix it without restarting my whole game.

Heyaaa raspbella, hope we can sort it out! Did we unzip the mod before putting it into the mods folder (either by double clicking on it & copying & pasting those files into the Mods folder orrr by using a file extractor program like winrar to get to those files and drag and drop them into the mods folder)? Did we put it into the main Mods folder? (Not into a subfolder = aka another folder into the Mods folder) Do we have the resource.cfg file inside the Mods folder?

Mccc, more columns, any kind of custom content recipes/life simulation cc and especially ui mods! here is a mystery. I have only used UI cheats. I recently updated my game after a year away. I deleted the out of date UI cheats and downloaded the new one. its installed correctly. CC and script mod are enabled. when you go to mods after restarting the game, nothing shows up. I am completely befuddled. any ideas? I have also cleared my memory, my cache in the EA app and game, repaired game and did an uninstall/install.

Yes, so here’s the thingg Sometimes the resource.cfg file & the localthumbcache file in the sims 4 folder can get broken/ turn into not functioning properly So here’s what we can do! 1. Turn on custom content & mods 2. Apply changes in game options (if those do not save, i have a fix kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m9CAZ5yruc2bdoE.html > exit the game 3. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old (keep the Mods old folder in your TS4 folder) - do this with your game completely closed 4. Delete these files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this will get rid of any temporary files that piled out over time, similar to getting rid of cache!) 5. Open ts4 & exit straightaway 6. A new Mods folder should show up in your TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your custom content - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, please try not to put outdated mods🙏) 9. Put the new, up to date script mods into your newly generated Mods folder

@@Darielle I did all of that. No new mods folder showed up. I have been playing since sims 2. I started to use mods in 2016 and I have never had an problem. this is so frustraiting. My sims 4 also recently deleted almost 10 years worth of plays.

Hey Keiona!! This usually happens due to broken mods! It happened to me too, so if you use any kind of script mods (especially ui mods, like mccc, ui cheats, more columns), we are gonna need to delete those & install the updates! But before doing that, I suggest we reset the Mods folder! I'll leave the steps for you here so it's easier to follow 😃 1. Make sure we enable mods and cc into the game & apply > close TS4 2. Rename the Mods folder into Mods old - do this with your game & any other apps related to the game completely closed - (and keep that Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on) 3. This might be due to broken cc or mods So we can try this! - go into the mods folder - type in ts4script in that search bar - write the names of those mods (on a paper/on notes), so we can know what we’ve used - delete all those ts4script mods - search their names in the search bar & delete any other files that have the same name - delete adult mods, ui mods, functional cc (toddler, school, life, drama, restaurant etc mods that add features in the game) - delete the localthumbcache file from the sims 4 folder What has also helped me is creating a folder on desktop called 50/50 That means we’re going to copy half of our cc from our Mods folder and paste it into that 50/50 folder Then we open the game with that half & see if we still have the issue If we still have it in the game, then we can try to cut + paste one cc at a time into that 50/50 folder, open the game after doing this & basically figuring out if that file was the problem We’re gonna repeat the process until we find the culprit Delete the problematic one & then you can put that half of your cc (from the 50/50 folder) back into your Mods folder Repeat the process if it does the game Hope I made sense! 🫶🏻 I’m rooting for you!

Remove these files from The Sims 4 folder: localthumbcache & gameversion (this way we remove any temporary corrupted mod files, similar to getting rid of cache!) 5. Launch the game & close it rightaway 6. A new Mods folder should appear in TS4 folder (make sure it has the resource.cfg file inside!) 7. Copy all of your cc - clothes and furniture - (but no script mods or functional cc, things like life mods, restaurant mods etc) from your Mods old to the newly generated Mods folder 8. Download the updates for the mods (if there are any! If there are not, we gotta be patient a bit & wait till those updates get released🙏) 9. Place your updated script mods into your newly generated Mods folder

If you cannot access game options in order to turn on cc&mods, then skip step 1 & do it after step 3, apply changes, exit game, reopen it, exit it once again in order for the new Mods folder to show up

Resetting the mods folder + updating the script mods did the trick for me - rename your mods folder into mods old (and keep it there) - open game - go to game options & make sure your mods & cc are allowed - apply changes - exit game straightaway - open it once again & exit straightaway - a new mods folder will show up - copy all of your CC (so NO script mods) from your mods old to the new mods folder - download the updates for your script mods + install them into the new mods folder Hope this helps 🙏

Hello there! I don’t know exactly what you’re referring to, do we have mods that do not show up or mods that are broken? So here’s the thing I don’t have many mods hence why I don’t show a lot of them Every single mod that ends with ts4script as well as functional custom content (things like school/restaurant mods or any kind of file that adds features in the game) needs to be deleted after update Those get broken after almost every single update and we delete them to not break our game Then we can install the updates Custom content (aka makeup, clothes, accessories, build/buy items) do not usually get broken, so we can keep those Hope this makes sense! 🙏

Hey there!! Hope we can sort it out together 🙏🤞 If we take a look into the inventory, is there any crib in there? If there is not, did we remove all broken script mods after update? We can also try to move out our whole family onto another lot (preferably a base game one, with no cc!) and see if the crib shows up in the inventory! Fingers crossed this works for us ^^

Doesn't really make sense ... how do you know which mods are outdated & need deleting?

you delete all your script mods and update them, and cc thats broken, like clothes or something, can be found by splitting your mods file in half, going into the game and checking cas to see if its gone, and if not, keep going in half until you do find it. its tedious but its the only way
