We had a great day on the Boracay island hopping tour with lunch. We visited Ilig Iligan Beach, snorkeled at Turtle Island, drove by Crocodile Island, cliff jumped at Aron Magic Island, had a fantastic lunch, and then saw the coves of Crystal Cove Magic Island. We were going to stop and snorkel at Crocodile Island, but it started to rain, so we decided we better head home. It was good that we did because the thunder and lightning storm hit with a vengeance. It started to rain, so hard that you could hardly see. We were entirely soaked through.
After cliff-jumping at Aron Magic Island, we headed to lunch at Malay. When we walked into the restaurant, we were shocked to find such a great surprise. They put all of our food on banana leaves with the most beautiful display. With the rice, they spelled Backman Family Boracay 2023. There were hammocks made of clams and noodles hanging on rice palm trees. The shrimp were placed to look like hearts and cool designs were made of fish, spring rolls, pork, and other delicious food. It was so fun to eat the food right off of the table with our hands. We were grateful to our awesome tour guide, Felipe for setting this all up for us. It was a lunch we will always remember.
After lunch, the kids got into the Filipino traditional Kawa baths to get "cooked alive" :). It was kind of crazy to see a fire blazing beneath the bath that my kids were sitting in. We got some good pictures and had some fun. It was an amazing lunch!
Next up...we visit Crystal Cove Island, hike around the beautiful island, and hike down the cliffs to the caves and coves.
