THE US Secret Service will be embarrassed by their failed attempt to protect Donald Trump, a security expert told The Sun.
Trump was shot in the ear on Saturday by a gunman as he gave a speech at a political rally in Pennsylvania.
It has been claimed that Secret Service agents failed to properly secure the area ahead of the event, even after flagging the shooter's perch as a security risk.
Shocking video surfaced today that appeared to show rally-goers shouting at police as they saw shooter Crooks climbing onto a nearby roof.
One eyewitness from the rally said cops ignored his warnings as he watched the shooter "bear-crawl" onto the roof, rifle in hand.
And another report even claims a local police officer confronted the shooter before climbing down - seconds before Trump was hit.

Friend, 140 yards is not a long distance shot at all. A decent shooter, not expert, could do it with open sights. And, Crooks wasn't walking around with a rifle. He hid it previous to the rally. He wasn't let in with a rifle. And, he was OUTSIDE the security perimeter. SS screwed up majorly.

This happened ~30 minutes from where I live; I pass through Butler, PA all the time... I remember thinking it's neat that Trump is visiting this local small town that is so close to home, but also thinking I would never want to attend such an event because of the risk of political violence. Interesting that my gut instinct proved to be 100% correct.

He could have been a fan climbing up there with a flag (an example somebody else gave), but the local police knew of a threat about 30 minutes before Trump got on stage, and I believe they were told that there was a man with a gun on the roof (and, no, there were not supposed to be any guns at the event outside of law enforcement). I believe I also heard that they were shown a photograph of the man with the gun on the roof. Whether that information made it to the other team, I don't know.

I'm an American and I just wanted to make a slight edit. You said something along the lines that it isn't as surprising for us to see someone with a gun compared to if a gun were being carried in the U.K. It depends entirely on WHERE in the USA the person is carrying a gun. Most people don't carry their guns in public as it would make people quite uncomfortable. In small towns where there is a lot of deer and hog hunting, you'll see boxes attached to the inside of the back of a pick up truck. But here in Orlando, FL people would freak out if they saw a gun being carried!

There are examples when people survived head shots. It depends on the ammunition and where it hits. But when it comes to this case it is claimed that a few millimeters difference had been fatal. A few millimeters had only scratched the cranium... Any knowledgeable person who can give an input about it?
