This high stakes poker hand features a huge bluff for a lot of money, so naturally it's right in my wheelhouse. Double M is in a tough spot with top pair against repeated barrels from Mariano. What does the solver have to say about it?

Love the solver style breakdowns Doug! As a live player I do think there is room for both a solver/mathematical approach as well as an exploitative approach. Perhaps the type of players in the hand (or the type of game) could be what decides what type of analysis you take.

Perfect mix of what YOU would do vs. the solver. Also like that you let each round play out without commentary THEN you back it up to chime in; it gives us the chance to ponder "what would I do" before listening to your and the solver. Spot on perfect, the nutz of review, commentary, and the nitty gritty. Well done! 👍

Hi @Doug , while the solver is using 86 type hands as bluff some of the time in all 3 streets, it's also giving up some of the time in each. This type of randomization is very hard to implement for people, and most thinking players tend to have no pure giveups in polarized 3 barrel spots once they start bluffing and miss later on. This results in either overbluffing on the river or underbluffing on the flop (or both). If this leak is true for the opponent, does it make sense to call tighter on the flop than optimal and call down all bluff-catchers on the river, as an exploit?
@leyle9585

like the analysis and format as is, would enjoy some discussion on players' mannerisms and live tells. I noticed mariano check his cards once or twice AFTER barrelling on the river and hearing your thoughts on if this is a giveaway would be sick
