Damiano (the singer of Måneskin) said in an interview that he was born with a hole between his vocal chords so he doesn't actually distort his voice, it naturally sounds like that but he can also achieve very clean sounds. I have been listening to them for a while now and watched a lot of interviews and videos of them. I also am Italian. I think their greatest talent is storytelling. They can do it with words, and together, they transform it into music. Every note, every nuance is exactly right to tell a story. And it comes naturally - because they are narrators.

FYI it's pronounced more like "mon-eh-skin', with the emphasis on the 'mon' part! :) You should def check out 'La Paura del Buio' (specifically the live performance on Radio Italia Live, the vocals are unreal!! Someone's uploaded it with english subtitles too, so I def recommend that specific version. It's the one with like 2.5m views)

Great ! Yes more Måneskin, but please could you pronounce it the right way, it's a Danish word meaning Moonlight (Victoria, the bass player is half Danish). It is pronounced "Moan-Ah-Skin". You should also react on the Loneliest, Zitti e buoni and Coraline (San Remo 2022 version), Damiano's voice hits differently in Italian.

i absolutely love maneskin, if i could suggest a song from them would definitely be torna a casa or trastevere. also i have a request, could you please make a video reacting to LP?? i love your vocal analysis and i feel like you would enjoy very much hearing LP sing. songs like lost on you, forever for now (live) and when we're high (as well as a bunch of other ones that are incredible) are amazing and so complex when performed live like she does. or another singers that i would totally love to see an analysis of are MAMAMOO, a kpop group that is distinguished for having four amazing vocalists and basically being the best kpop vocal group out there. their "immortal songs" performances are THE BEST, the medley included. i hope you see my comment, i love your vids, they're very instructive and enlightening to someone like me that loves music so much. 🩷 (sorry for any typo, english is not my first language)

All beautiful but it's a very old performance, from 2017, when they were still unknown and very young. Why choose such an old video? Better to analyze a recent one where you can admire the artistic growth and experience accumulated over 7 years. They wrote so many beautiful songs to choose from, so much material for new reactions.

I hope that we get to see you check out more ONE OK ROCK and Taka's harsh vocals. One by One live at Saitama super arena 35xxxv tour is a great place to start. Somehow he jumps and spins a while screaming a bit. In another performance, "Juvenile" he screams while headbanging.

It's actually more like 'mon-eh-skin' (with the emphasis on the 'mon' part)! It comes from a danish word for 'moon', so that's why it may feel a little confusing - since they are an Italian band!! :)

A fun fact: In the U.S., "moonshine" is a type of home-made whiskey. Moonlight is what we call the light of the moon. Moonshine probably got its name because it became popular in the early 1900's when alcohol was prohibited in the U.S., and so it had to be made at night by the light of the moon.

You really need to know how to pronounce the name of the band you are reviewing, food for thought but totally appreciate the effort, kind of like a Toronto VJ in the 80's announcing Metallica (Meta Leeka) on live tv w millions of viewers, the proper pronunciation is Mon us kin and not Man Skin, thanks for the review though!! and keep them coming!

It is very raw. He was very young here (17 or 18) and still figuring things out. If you want to hear how he's progressed since then, I would suggest their most recent ballads, Valentine or Trastevere. They also did a performance of this same song last year in their concert at Madison Square Garden (but I think there are only fan videos of that).
