Beautiful old farm house with huge holes in the roof. Sadly was moved from town in hopes of being saved but the plans never came too fruition. This old house was built in the mid 19th century around 1855. Lots of incredible old features like the old doors and fireplaces. Really sad but beautiful old home, unfortunately never found a way too basement since the stairs were totally gone. Did make it up too the attic though! Thank you for watching! Like and comment and subscribe if you enjoyed!

I can't imagine moving a house that size without modern machinery, must have been a lengthy, massive project. Shame the roof leaked like that must have been beautiful at one time. That one upstairs room was almost perfect while the rest of the house falls down around it. That bathroom though, that view was amazing. Thanks, Kappy

I would imagine that the large living room with two fireplaces was originally two separate parlors since since there are two arched entrances from the front hallway into that room. This house has a wonderful feel to it. Radiator heat must have been added at some point along with the two bathrooms. And that upstairs bathroom is a gem.

Fascinating history on this house, I'll bet that whomever paid to move this home must have owned the field it was moved to, probably had plans to live in it. Most likely circumstances prevented that from happening maybe someone died or got sick and couldn't finish the property, sad to see it was left to rot for 40 years. It was a beautiful home at one time and a great layout on lovely open field.

@@tammyfriend2189 EXACTLY........my old friend's Victorian apartment was originally a sitting room with a Bay window.. The hall had a large room at the end that had been the original bedroom. Between these rooms was created an awesome bathroom with clawfoot tub old /chained toilet and sink. You had to walk far between these items on a marble flooring. A whole walk in closet could fit in the open spacing. The kitchen was an 'added' section sometime in the 1960's when the house was turned into 3 to floor apartments and a DR's office on the first floor.

What a beautiful, well-built home this was. You're right, if they had kept up the roof it would still be fine. It deserved a metal roof, oh well. The windows in the upstairs bathroom were gorgeous, all the windows and doors in the house were. The porch and entryway, too. Even the attic space was well made, I love attics so thank you for sticking your head up there even though there were vultures. I'm wondering if the house didn't come through the move as well as the movers hoped, rather than it having been moved to a field and then forgotten about. All the interior doors you tried were sticking as if everything was out of true; although it could have been wood swelled and distorted through damp - debris getting caught etc. Just that that's a heck of an investment/project to move it just to leave it.

I think the 2 separate fire places in one large entertaining room, has to do with the way they entertained back in the day. I learned this from the elderly people at the country club I worked at. They would invite people over for dinner, and then after dinner the men and women would split up for conversation. The men around one fire place, and the women around another.

I wonder if this house was ever lived in after it was moved? It obviously had some updating with the radiator heating and electrical outlets. It's not insulated, so a fireplace in every room would have had a hard time keeping it warm, it looks like 2 radiators might have had trouble too. I'm guessing it was moved there with the intention of fixing it up. I didn't notice any 'newer' wiring, and the old ceramic insulators and wiring would have needed replacing 50+ years ago. Thanks Kappy, keep bringing the videos!

I don’t believe it was lived in after the move to be honest! The house was planned as a retirement fixer upper project, like an old car or something but with old age comes other problems and the unforeseen circumstances of life!

@@urbanexploringwithkappy1773 Always. You're the very best of the folks who post these kinds of videos. You don't talk excessively trying to create a story about the home or the people who might have lived there, you're respectful, and your honest reactions to birds, bats, and vultures always crack me up. Stay sweet.

Really sad nobody rescued it before all the water damage. Would be very difficult now. It must have been stunning originally.

Wow! 1855. It’s so big! It looked to me like a fire had been at the top of that staircase. I loved the wallpaper in the bathroom and the view from there too. Pretty cool.

Another awesome old place. At least it appeared that someone was taking some of the better woodwork and the fireplace. The porch rail pile on the porch, and the loosened fireplace, is what gives me that impression. Someone found the perfect spot for a house, then moved their favorite house to the spot. Another wonderful job Kappy! Keep them coming! And thanks for taking me along!

It would be my dream to redo a house like this. I love watching your videos. And I am glad you don't take chances on sketchy floors. But I still talk to you and tell you to be careful. ❤️

I like how you find the oldest houses, liked to have seen this one in its day. I belive the basement stairs weren't reinstalled when the house was moved. Nice tour! 👍👍

It’s too bad there wasn’t really much of anything left in there to offer any clues as to when this once beautiful house had last been inhabited. I mean, it could’ve been anywhere from 30 to 60 years judging by the level of rot and decay. Thanks again sharing. 👍
