I did not initially volunteer tor submarine duty, I was drafted; however I loved it so much I stayed in boats for nearly 30 years. 👍👍

In 2005 I gave them an idea on how they can monitor certain waterways taxis vessels. He was incredibly oversimplified. I built a submarine while in high school in 1999 and my idea was basically self-contained buoy with about 10 sensors monitoring every possible variations. keep track of what’s going on.

Every time you say, Akula, change it to typhoon you have your submarines wrong. The typhoon was the twin hull ballistic missile submarine. The Akula which means shark in Russian is the fast attack submarine. Also, both of the submarines were built after the quieting techniques were leaked to the Russians by American spies so they were actually very quiet. It was the Oscar and November class that sounded like trash cans. The rest was good, carry on!

The best submarine movies: Run Silent, Run Deep, Operation Petticoat, The Hunt for Red October, Up Periscope, Crimson Tide, Down Periscope, Das Boot, (The Boat), and Gray Lady Down, (1978), the latter is a disaster film with Charlton Heston.

You made a big mistake about the akula class submarine. You call it the largest submarine ever built which is simply incorrect. Its 113 meters long. The typhoon class is175m. The ohio class is 170m. I think the issue is that the Typhoon class was also called the Akula by the Russians, but if that is the submarine you want to list you should probably use the correct graphic. Those two submarines look radically different.

It is not an Admiralty but the Admiralty, he pronounced it weird. From the rank of Admiral which is the naval equivalent of the general class of officer ranks in an army. So “The Admiralty” is akin to “High Command” or “Headquarters” of an army. Think the higher powers of a country’s navy.

So the Norwegians killed the sailors and not Putin? 3:25:30 I feel like regardless of late the launch the way the compartment was purged - would have resulted in the death of the crew.

The moon pool was real. It was so they could lift the submarine up into it. I've seen the inside of the glomar explorer. It's real. The moon pool is real. At least it was, I think it got scrapped , but it used to be anchored off of Long Beach I think. Which is where I saw it, snuck on board while it was in the reserve fleet. They used to have the battleships anchored out there too. It was basically the Navy and the military sea lift commands boneyard.

Not sure how we can assume what Russia plans to build, as subs go. Truth be told ive hesrd they have torpedoes which can be fired thousands of miles away. With that capability, they really dont need new subs.

China doesn't have the level of readiness that people think they do. Systemic corruption in the ranks and among the government contractors who are responsible for their ships and weapon systems have caused a great deal of damage to China's military capability. Russia has a similar problem, but China is much worse.
