Arnoud Huberts well, they waited at the start of the climb. They didn't know what to do. Eventually they started riding and I remember that Dumoulin climbed that mountain faster than anybody else

nah its not a fault of movistar, it's the Bahrain started to put up the pace so Quintana the leader just followed wheels till the summit, he didn't attack. He just must not let Nibali and other gc guys go.

I enjoy cycling but I do not understand rules of actual cycling so forgive me for this questions. What did he do that was wrong? How was Dumoulin a gentleman?
@kritostheanswer4 жыл бұрын
Joseph Edstrøm it’s not so much the actual UCI rules but rather the unwritten rules not to attack the GC leader when they crash or have a mechanical. In this case it was just a main GC contender looking after another. Which was not required but it’s a gentleman thing to do and make this sport wonderful to watch. Like others have said Quintana did not want to press on but Merida put on the pressure and he has to follow to not loose time to other GC contenders.

Missing bigger controversies : 1) Sagan thrown out of the 2017 Tour de France 2) Nibali's crash on the Alpe d'Huez 3) Stage 19 shortened in the Tour de France 2019 and the classification changed
@denkend83734 жыл бұрын
Stage 19 shortened wasn't a contoversy everybody agreed it was the only thing that could be done
@aua63304 жыл бұрын
@@denkend8373 The only option ? What about restarting the race ? It has already be seen, even in 2019 in Dwars doors Vlaaderen. And it has been seen at even more crucial moments of a race, like in Roubaix 2006 when a train stopped the chasing group. The controversy also comes from the applications of the rules, which are very clear for cases like this, and nothing allows the commissaires to set a finishline somewhere on the course after the riders have passed it.

@joesutherland20174 жыл бұрын
@ peter- Whatever, chief. Cavendish crashed out many a competitor back when he was able finish races with the bunch and was responsible for knocking guys out of races, not because of dq's, but bc they were injured so badly they were unable to continue. Do you think Sagan could have won if he hadn't fallen? Personally I think so, because he was at his highest level that year, look at the speed at which he accelerated without showing any sign of pain... And if he has been a little luckier on the Parix Roubaix I think he could have won the 2 monuments

How long can the car pull the rider along pretending to grab the bottle before it's considered cheating?
@johntucker97824 жыл бұрын
I know little about cycling but even I noticed that bogus bottle exchange.
@s1mpleniko4884 жыл бұрын
I read it in some vids it says 8 seconds and it is not cheating because you can hold on to that for 8 sec
@dannyh82883 жыл бұрын
I think 4 seconds. But there is another reason that doesnt involve cheating. It pertains to the safety of the other riders. They want to make sure the bottle is in the hands firmly. A dropped full water bottle can and has caused riders that ran over it to crash. So the rider getting the bottle has to make sure he has a firm grip before the guy giving him the bottle can let go.

first crash, why were the so close to the crowd,
@apex16154 жыл бұрын
It is easier to ride on the side of the road because it is relatively flat, riding on the road with all those bumps is is not efficient, pleasant or otherwise. It's just faster, of course it comes with the risk of crashing because of the fences or idiots in the crowd.
@alliecoan57103 жыл бұрын
