If you watch this in slo mo you will see that what that Shepard did is mental. He actually pushed the kid down so that the incoming dog will miss it's target, stepped aside as to not collide with the dog, and once the dog missed and went further because of it's momentum, was ready to engage. This was tactical brilliance.

@alinac5512 Жыл бұрын
While I do give credit to the owner for being right behind the dog i do hope he brought the dog back into his house and than immediately went to his neighbors house to properly apologize. I also noticed how the owner of the German Shepard was calm even though her kid was in danger and that guy was yelling at his dog even after the dog was already chased away from the boy (=he's yelling not to prevent the attack but to show the dog his displeasure) so I think the owner might be partially responsible for his dogs agression. I cant judge though, I don't know them. And for sure that german shepherd probably also saved the other dogs life, depending on where this was. In my country if a dog bites once I'm pretty sure you have to go back to training and if it's still agressive they sadly are killed, I think.

I don’t feel a lot of compassion for the neighbor. They knew their dog was aggressive towards strangers, but still thought it was a good idea to keep it. The loyalty of a dog is amazing. Many years ago we were walking our Shelty on the street a few houses from ours. A large Shepard across the street started angrily barking from its driveway. Our Shelty ran back to our driveway in fear and watched from there. When the Shepard started walking down its driveway toward us our Shelty immediately went into protect mode and ran back, in spite of her initial obvious fear, got between us and the Shepard and stood it down. They barked at each other a few seconds until the Shepard relented and shyly walked back to its home. Our Shelty stayed with now until we got home. What a good girl.
@joeblog26722 ай бұрын
The Shepherd was probably just flexing its territory and not looking to attack your dog, or any of your group. Of course there are always exceptions and your Shelty wasn't going to take any chances. @@miachelsanta7763the light coloured dog (German shepherd) is the hero. The small dark dog, is from same household as the German shepherd I would think. And that dog came to help the German shepherd when see the German shepherds reaction to the other dog. The long legs dark dog (first one running in the video) was the assaulter. You can see that the assulter dog came from the house, and as soon as it ran past it’s owner, he ran after it trying to stop it. Now the only thing that I find unclear is; did the assult dog see the German shepherd at attacking the boy and want to save the boy, but came in a way that seemed like an attack in itself or did it see them playing and wanted to join, no fence or lead stopping it, so it ran over to play, but the run was too aggressive, so others reacted as if the dog was attacking or last scenario; the assault dog decided to attack the boy. Now if that is true, they need to check for mental illnesses in the dogs brain (there is a illness in dogs that they get in the brain, that some get where they simply attack for no reason and the only cure, for it is to unfortunately have to put them down) Plus you can not trust a dog that attacks like that as much anymore. My own husky was attacked by an off leash dog, where his tail was bitten. Over 4 years ago, and he still reacts to some other dogs. However we keep our dog on lead 100 % of the time. Since they are animals, you can never 100% control them, at the end of the day, nature is their strongest instinct. The good and bad side of it as shown on this video. Hope that helped

This whole “this breed is good. This breed is bad” mentality is why people say any pit bull should be put down. It’s all down to how they’re raised. The problem with certain breeds is that they are more powerful than others. A playful accidental bite might be no big deal with one breed, but that same bite from a pit bull or something else with really powerful jaws can be way more devastating. Don’t blame the breeds Don’t own a dog that you would not be able to physical overpower if you had to. Even the best trained dogs have bad days too. Dogs have a lot of the same emotions as humans. Which means they can be pushed to anger too
@marianneelliot-hansen9 ай бұрын
@@shredseeker8420 I disagree, you are not wrong. It’s like saying only humans are bad, only men are bad. Only women are bad, or any one of them are good. It all comes to the difference and personality and situation and everything else and their upbringing and experiences Of course each breed has its strengths and weaknesses, but it’s not just about the breed but also how they were raised and what environment and situation makes them tick. Some dogs are just perfect for family while others are not at all. We have a husky and I have seen a lot of videos with huskies. They are aggressive or they destroy the house. Our husky is a cuddle Bear and he doesn’t destroy the house at all and he could easily be next to small children (has been too) he is a gentle giant without the ‘get off my face’ attitude but the ‘what are you doing to my face’ and talking to you in a wonder and complaint. @@geraldinetunstalle6044 No dogs should have to 'earn their keep', because dogs are a member of the family. Plus, since we are the ones that choose to get a pet, we are ones with the responsibilities- not them. If you think a dog needs to do something exceptional like this to be worth the effort/money involved in their care, then you don't really get dogs.

@@spicybiscuit88in my world, everyone has to earn their keep. Even the children are required to start doing what they can do when they are old enough. Why should the dog be any different than the rest of the family members. We all have a role to play.

@@geraldinetunstalle6044 I agree with you. My dogs are pretty useless when it comes to home protection. But boy are they there when I need them emotionally. My one dog does not leave my side when I am hurting physically. He wont let anyone near me and gets upset if someone even my husband or other dog gets between me and him. To me that is him earning his keep. Everyone will define how their pet earns their keep. They all have a role to play whether people want to admit it or not.

You can see how the dog loves the child, plays with him and sees him as part of his pack.

You can tell the difference between a well behaved dog vs one that's uncontrollable, the Shepard wanting to play with his kid owner meanwhile the other dog could care less about the little girl across the street and would prefer to attack the little boy..

The “ attacking “ dog wasn’t going after the child it wanted to interact with the other dogs. 🐶
