Thank you for this video! So about your last example, is there any way to use the automatic next style feature when you have one or two body paragraphs? I mean, not always one body text paragraph, but sometimes 2 or 3 consecutive body text paragraphs??

If you have more than one body paragraph, you'll have to do like I did when I selected one "rotation" of the styles. That is, something like select Header, Subhead, and all the body text rows, then perform "apply style, then next style." So it's not quite as automatic as selected and formatting all the text in one go, but it's still quicker than manually doing it. -EG

Hi, Thanks for this advice :) I was wondering, if there is a way in Indd to change in a whole document the text formatted with an existing style to a new style. Example. I have a document with Style1 (Bodytext) then I did a second style (bodytext2) for 20 additional pages; never the less, the first 20 pages shoudl have the first style. I created the original style, but I need the parragraphs to be with the newly created style; something like a find and replace styel #1 for style #2 in a selected part of the publication.

Yes, you can use the Find/Change feature. In the Text tab, go to the bottom and under Find Format enter the paragraph style and change format to the new style. If you want it all to change, choose “Change All.” If you don’t want to keep the original style at all, you can skip Find/Change and just delete the old style and it will ask what to replace it with. -EG

Hi What to do if we have more paragraphs in 3rd paragraph style and then having one or 2 more styles. Plus what if a paragraph having bullet list in the 3rd paragraph style.

Yeah, I wish they would have a selection that is: "if more than one paragraph, then apply to all until $" or something like that based on a character like nested styles are.

Thanks! At 1:45 you say you "automatically set it to be price" for a new text box. How do you set that?

If you have no text frame selected and select your type tool and indicate fonts, spacing, or (as in this case) text style, that becomes the default for all new text frames in that document. -EG

Yes, that’s correct. By setting up Next Style, the style switches when you enter a new paragraph. Sorry for any confusion and glad you like the channel!
