Despite knowing the final outcome of the race, my heart skipped a beat or two when I saw the fumble in handing over the baton between the 3rd and 4th runner . Four cheers to the Indian women who ran their heart out to make it a 'Gold'en day for India.

I noted the same and just decided to see in the comments first if someone else felt the same. I think the 3rd runner couldn't let go because of nervousness, although she was the one who brought the team to the first rank. Overall, it was fantastic

I remember those days As kids When we would be Searchng For medal tally..if we hv won any.... Mostly it would be Nil.. Later i would argue wth my brother..why inspite of Havng won Isolatd medal we would Still be nowhere on list ...but at end We realized Unless we won gold..we wouldnt Rise above in Medal tally

We cannot say who ran the best unless we know the individual timings, my youngest sister, Vandana (Arjun Awardee) was the member of 4x400 Gold medal team at the Asian level several times in the last century. It all looks better or worse here because of the better or worse performance of competitor athletes, so hats off to Total Team performance.....

The athletes have been excellent, but the coach should look into the batton exchange technique. This costed us medal in the 4x100 MTS as well. Keep going girls and boys, make us proud, we support ur each effort irrespective of the result.

Baton change confusion could have been avoided but at highest level of competition, it do occurs due to extreme tension . Coaches should note this weakness and ensure that this is avoided in future competitions. The 3rd relayist speed was superb - Sports Authority should give attention and help her to improve her skill further more. Best of luck - Jai Hind.
