The Indian parliament on Monday (27/5) began debating a vote of no-confidence which threatens to bring down the country's first Hindu nationalist government. The debate, in the Indian Lok Sabah (lower house of Parliament) will decide if India's BJP government survives.

Great son of mother India PVNR became PM of the crisis rich nation after tragic assasination of Rajiv Gandhi in June 1991. Not in majority he was initially hesitant but completed his full 5years term as biggest contributor to nation's economy. He was so Brilliant and visionary ,that he appointed World bank's Dr.Manmohan Singh as FM of troubled nation.Manmohan in his budget reduced customs duty from peak 275% to only 45pc. Rate of income tax were brought down to normal 30%from peak 93%. liberalized and freed the economy from shackles of Nehru indira brand of socialism. Our foreign exchange reserve which was Nil 25years ago is.now USD 400bn. Narshimha Rao will be remembered as great leader after Sardar Patel. long live Narshimha Rao long live Manmohan SINGH Jay hind

Under his tenure as Finance Minister, India saw some of it's best growth years and even in 1991 as Commerce Minister he had a huge role to play in implementation of the economic reforms. For those Who are saying Economic reforms of 1991 LPG are because of P V Narsimha Rao Then u have misunderstandings Dear.... At That time Dr.Manmohan Singh Was appointed As finance minister ( as he was President for University grand Commission but later Rao Appointed him As finance minister) At that time there was inflation, economic was slowed down & Crude oil (petrol diesel) prices were hiked.... India Requested loan from world bank but due to pressure of USA ,WB denied the loan..so RBI suggested to invest on gold in japan bank and swiss bank...And there comes master mind Dr Manmohan Singh he Planned policy of LPG ( liberalisation privatization globalization) so the foreign company can directly invest in indian industrial sector,Industries were free for trade and pricing..... An ex -BJP guy here. Stopped supporting the BJP after my legendary leader Vajpayee went out. It is unfortunate that BJP today is more about hero worship than the ideology it stood!!! Vajpayee was a complete right winger both economically and culturally. But today's BJP has leaned more towards the left economically and wants only the cultural aspects of the right wing!!!
