बीफ़ को वैसे तो गाय और भैंस के मांस के रूप में समझा जाता है लेकिन भारत सरकार केवल भैंस के मांस के निर्यात की अनुमति देती है।
हम एक बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण सवाल को लेकर लोगों से बात चीत करना चाहते थे; क्यों हमें सड़कों पर इतनी गाय दिखती है लेकिन भैंस नहीं। और इस पर हमें उनके विचारों को समझने का एक शानदार अवसर भी मिला। पिछले कुछ वर्षों में भैंस दूध से अधिक मांस के लिए सुर्खियों में रहा है। सोचने वाली बात है कि कितने लोग वास्तव में ये जानते हैं कि भारत बीफ़ का प्रमुख निर्यातक है।
भारत में लोग भैंस को पालना पसंद करते हैं क्योंकि उससे उनको कई फायदे हैं लेकिन भैंसा जो उनके किसी काम का नहीं है उसे भूखा मरने के लिए छोड़ दिया जाता है या पैदा होते ही उनकी हत्या कर दी जाती है।
कितने दुःख की बात है कि एक तरफ तो हम गाय को मारते नहीं लेकिन दूसरी तरफ विश्व स्तर पर बीफ निर्यात में सबसे आगे हैं।
While beef is traditionally understood as meat from cows and buffaloes, the Indian government only allows for the slaughter and export of ‘Not-so-holy’ buffalo meat.
We wanted to get people’s reactions on a very important question; why were there so many cows on the roads but no buffaloes. We got an excellent opportunity to speak with a few people and understand their views on this. Buffalo is considered a superior animal, however, in the last couple of years it has been in news more for meat than milk. I wonder how many people actually know that India is the leading exporter of beef.
People in India have a strong female bias for their prized ability to produce high fat-content milk. Females account for 90 per cent of the total buffalo population. Males, which have limited utility, are either starved to death or slaughtered shortly after birth.
Isn’t it sad that on one hand we can’t kill cows but on the other globally lead in the beef export?

By birth i was vegetarian . Got to know about cruelty against animals by Aacharya Prashant and peepal farm . From last month i am veganish, i refused to consume outside company products like pizza , icecream, chocolate etc . Gonna turn vegan soon. Thank you very much for awakening people

Bigger and stronger animals like cows and animals were employed in the pre-tractor era for farming. Essentially ox's and bull (male buffalo) were engaged in the farms for tilling and other purposes. Females too were used but the other purpose was because they had the capacity to produce milk and reproduce. If one really looks at it, most families that owned such animals almost definitely owned some piece of agricultural land and all of the feed of the animals was procured from these farm lands. It was/is a very convenient cycle that makes complete sense. The cost of having these animals was the feed, which for most land owners was almost free (grass/shrubs) so they made complete economic sense. Milk entered the dietary chain as a freely or low-cost resource which multi-nationals took advantage of. The first point of agriculture was to serve our basic hunger problem with as less cost as possible. Animal milk was just a collateral advantage of organized agriculture which is why the gentleman called it 'free'. Its just the cows/buffalos give more quantity of milk than lets say a goat or sheep and cow/buffalos are almost as easy to maintain as a goat, that cow/buffalo milk wemt mainstream. Human consumption of animal milk is a product of economic challeneges, ready availability and it is too deeply engrained to uproot it without providing a solid alternative which seems rather unlikely.

Hi sir, My response is to the video, I read your comment and thought relying here too so that u get a notification and can read it to It is the population explosion of humans that is the problem. Now a days lot more farmers are rearing Friesian or Jersey cows because milk yield is over twice as that of the local indian breed. Female calf is cared for because when of age it will become a cow and provide milk. But male calf of these foreign breeds can not be used for some heavy work like in bullock carts or ploughing and hence they do not have any worth for the farmers so male calfs are either abandoned or sold to butcher houses. In the old-age even the cow has similar fate. However desi breed male calf can be utilised pulling cart or ploughing so at certain they are taken care of, but still in the age of tractors and other power tools desi male calfs too are suffering. Upto late 1990s farmers were rearing considerable desi cows and tractors were rare, 1/3 or 1/4 of what we have today. So cows, male and female calfs all had their material usefulness and were taken care of till death. Things were quite good till early of 1990s, even the calf used to get sufficient or almost so so milk, and rest was used for the family, there was no concept of selling milks in the villages, rich farmers owned cows and buffaloes while poor reared goats for milk. Peasants used to get milk for their infants from their masters. It's the population explosion of humans that is driving exploitation of each and every resources to crazy level. In earlier times whenever calfs were born they were allowed to feed the cows till satisfaction. Afterwards whatever milk was left was drawn. After some times calfs were also given some green softer grass to feed on and hence their dependency on cows milk was reduced and farmer can draw more milk. It was never back then (Though it's now) any exploitation the way you are defining about milk. I do agree they are suffering in various ways but main reason is population. People were milking those animal even 30 years earlier or even since time immemorial. Your logic and reasoning is countering the very idea of milk being a vegetarian product. Your concept of torture on cow and calf is exaggerated if we consider the scenarios of 25 years earlier from now.

@@IamPrakashRanjan Hello brother, I agree to most things you said. Can you please brief me about how milk is produced in the first place and how much is it produce. Be it humans or any other animal for that matter. How much milk does a desi cow produce naturally. And how much milk should a calf drink per day to get satisfied. Your complete answer revoles around population being the sole culprit. The Indian poplation 30 years before from now in 1991 census was 90 crores. And number of cattles has grown much more than number of humans. Yes population is one factor. But the greed to exploit more and more and make maximum profit out of anyone alive or dead animal or human be it anyone. We should not run away from the fact that Milk is not a need for a grown adult. It is UnNatural for grown ones to drink milk. We should stop unnecessary reasoning and so should we reduce and further stop the consumption of milk and the suffering will ultimately reduce.

I have a genuine question.....cow and buffalo both can be kept lifetime by the owner....till they're young,they give milk.....when they become old, their dung and urine can be used to make organic fertilizer for growing organic crops.....the owner can sell the dung and urine and that money can sustain the cattle.....no burden on the owner and the cattle will also live a peaceful life

I think what you said...vegan na shi veganish ho jaiye in one of your videos is a very powerful statement...once people do find a way to reduce their suffering footprint will work wonders(rather than entirely giving up dairy products in one step which is difficult)....not only will they learn being compassionate with animals it will spread the word to masses...truly inspired by ur work

@peepalfarm Milk plays a very important role in food security in country like ours where malnutrition and food security is a huge issue, milk whole food hai or uske ilawa bhi milk k kafi uses hai jaise youghurt, milkpowder (which is also used as filler, additive for thickening reagent), making cheese, whey powder and many more. u can also see the importance of milk as food bcoz its used as major Food Aid Supplies to other countries in famines and calamities. also it is a cheap source of protein/fats/vitamins, milk k alternative hai bilkul hai lekin wo alternative usually expensive hai jo ki wohi apni diet mai la skte hai jinki income achi ho, also in rural area milk selling provide major source of income to communties. Apka baat theek hai ki cows ko sadak par chodh diya jata hai 100% agree.. but milk alternate wohi apnayega jo achi income source rakhta ho or apni diet ko alternatively supplement kr ske.

Honest milk has I'll effects on your body contrary to popular belief. It can lead to depletion of calcium or bone enlargement in the body. Moreover no mamal required milk for a lifetime except for weaning period

@@sanketrautajss123 bhai slaughter to beef ke liye other parts of India mein bhi hota hai... Humesha gaushalas banti hai COWS ke liye, but buffaloes ke liye kuch nhi banta.... And there are a number of groups which only focus on banning COW slaughter... None has taken any step for banning the slaughter of Buffaloes...

@@anilaniaryan8598 ex: tum global warming km kar sakte ho rok nhi sakte. Vegetarian ke liye gae bhais sb barabar hai. But religious wife specifically jo hindus maf khate wo beef avoid karte hai. Muslims bekan avoid karte hai. Kuch na hone se kuch hona acha hai. Like in kerala when govt. Try to ban beef there they have slaughtered a cow calf there. Ab jo hai aesi hi km chlata hai.
