Problem is that India's main geostrategic concern right now is containing China. Which they cannot do it alone. They need allies. China is encroaching on Indian territory, making an ally of Pakistan, building ports at the Indian sea, challenging India as a regional power. It has no ally to turn to in the region, that could aid her. Russia will not aid India in a conflict with China. At most it will sell weapons, but that's it. Who else can India turn to? Well, the US and its patchwork of alliances. So the time has come for India to pick a side. Remaining neutral is an option for sure, but we are gradually transitioning to a bipolar world, with a Russia-China tandem challenging the US-Europe tandem. India will come at a point where it has to trade one of the two: 1) military connections to Russia 2) containing China within a US-led coalition. Neither decision is easy to make, both come with its wins and losses. But eventually a decision has to be made, because at least one of the players will no longer extend their help. Probably Russia not, but the US for sure will.

Its 2022 but still most of us (Indians) struck in 1971 . I want to ask a question.....What happened to our former PM who went to Tashkent (then USSR) for peace talks after Indo Pak war of 1965? Only his mortal remains returned to India from USSR and who killed him in USSR ? ......coming to USA,USA did helped India to enter into important international groups such as “Australia group”, “Wassenaar Arrangement”, “MTCR” etc( these groups are important for developing our indigenous defense industry)and helped India to enter NSG(Nuclear Suppliers Group) though China stopped India’s entry. India after signing important agreements with USA like BECA,CISMOA,LEMOA etc gained strategic advantage vis-a-vis China. USA and France helping India to develop our indigenous defense industry , for example USA allowed its engine manufacturing company(GE) to export engines to Tejas Fighter Jet, France allowed its company Safran to develop next generation engines for Indian needs.I can go on ...... but we as Indians should understand that Western countries are more important for us to realize India’s dream of becoming $5trillion USD economy in 2025. Now World witnessing Russian weapons capability in Ukraine war,Russia after 50 days of war still struggling to capture Kyiv.India should seriously consider buying western weapons or develop indigenous weapons for India’s security needs.....🙏

Russia becomes China's biatch (because Russia can't trade with EU in normal sense so they will be heavily reliant to China for trade). China will suck Russia resources dry.

Reality is that India has already made it clear to US that it is a fully sovereign country and not a vassal, unlike some in the West, and that there is always give and take in diplomacy. It's such an interesting situation with India. America really fucked things up in the past, especially placing sanctions on a starving country is unnecessarily cruel (not to mention supplying weapons to Pakistan just for them to be handed to terrorists). Now, America recognizes the value of India, especially in the context of a rapidly developing China. India is really the only player that can compete in terms of it's labor force and access to critical trade routes (Indian ocean). I also think Israel's relationship with India is particularly interesting. Indians, from what I've seen, seem to love and support Israel and the relationship between both countries is strong. Interestingly, it is almost an inverse situation regarding the US and Russia however. Israel is practically an extension of the US military industrial complex and holds an extremely close relationship to the US. Israel however, does align itself with Russia as well. This is due to the presence of Russia in Syria, which Israel sees as critical because it allows them to more easily monitor and counter any offensive actions from Iran. So then, while India builds it's relationship with the US around the strategic importance of being competition to China due to it's geographical location and gets the majority of it's arms from Russia, Israel is allied with the US to get and develop weapons technology, and friendly with Russia due to geographical significance of having influence in Syria. And yes of course, Israel is also extremely geographically significant for the US as well. Additionally, both countries seem to not have had the most fun living with their Muslim neighbors. With Israel fighting multiple defensive wars against all its neighbors, and still dealing with Iranian supplied Hamas in the Gaza strip. Meanwhile India has been dealing with the threat of nuclear annihilation from Pakistan and Pakistan funded terrorists since both countries were created (and ofc the violence goes back even before this). I think it is natural then that both countries have such a good relationship. If only the US would support India like it does Israel, the relationship would be extremely fruitful. This relationship would have to be built out of mutual self-interest. India cannot be treated like it should be subservient to the US but rather, respected as the global superpower it can be. Friendship between two powerful nations with full autonomy that choose to work together rather than the US simply trying to coerce them into compliance.

Overall that was an excellent analysis, but it is also incomplete. China's strategic partnership with Pakistan raises the stakes for India even higher. As long as that dynamic remains in place, it is very difficult to see how India could move away from Moscow. Not only is Moscow a direct counter to Pakistan, the close relationship between Russia and China makes it possible for Russia to influence Chinese policies affecting their relationship with India. So long as this continues, this stalemate is unlikely to change regardless of the sanctions. It's far too effective a strategy for preserving the status quo for any of the parties involved to risk disturbing the balance. The consequences would be impossible to anticipate.

The united states should understand this predicament India is in. Bcus even if we wanted to change weapon systems it wont happen overnight. We are trying to reduce dependance but it'll take time, and its important for us to meet our national interests in the mean time. The best thing America could do instead of threatening with sactions, is that they actually try to fit into russia's role and actively try to replace russia as the chief supplier of arms. Tbh I personally want to see Indo-American relations strengthen over Indo-Russian relations. This is as black and white analysis as you can do.. it's not just about military equipment.. or s400 as mentioned in the video.. here's just a few ripple effects we will face when we stop our neutrality stance.. oil- this is by far India's biggest import. With the west sanctioning Russia without a back up in place and global crude price increasing because of increase in demand this effects our economy and our currency. We respected sanctions on Iran and Venezuela. But sanctioning one of the biggest producers or natural gas in the world and putting pressure on gulf to increase it's production to meet demand is a stupid move. And we're facing the burn because of it. fertilizer - a major chunk of people and economy are agriculture dependent. And we import it mostly from Russia.. this is often overlooked by analysts but a sudden cutoff of this supply will have equally crippling effects as cutting of Russian gas to EU tomorrow.. any disturbance in supply chain will put the farmers and produce at risk. Nation's sentiment - we are an emotionally charged country and we remember how the west , particularly USA financed pakistan for decades and nurtured radical terrorist groups to cause instability in afganistan and eventually take over it.. USA caused the biggest security concern we had for decades and now conveniently wants us to put things in the past.. trust is not bought. It's earned. Our neighbours - we have a nuclear armed rouge nation which loves to see india fall than its own people prosper. Courtesy USA. On the other hand we have a relentless ,expansionist nuclear armed regime who has 1.5 billion slaves working for it.. courtesy the west.. outsourcing all its industries for cheap labour and green points.. A stark contrast to us where every 100 kms u drive the culture language People and in some cases even governments are different each fighting their own battles internally. West is already doing it's best to push Russia into the laps of China.. we wish not to participate and bring another nuclear powered enemy on our doorstep.. we are already have an inevitable 2.5 vs 1 war on our hands.. This ukraine crisis has made one thing very clear.. western policy makers look to serve no higher purpose than protect their own self interests and maintain their Monopoly over world.. we are trying to do the same by being neutral in a war we didn't ask for nor are responsible directly or indirectly..

India and Russia have a relation. A relation built in a period when western democracies used to support a military dictatorship called Pakistan. -: Dr. S. Jaishankar, EAM of India India fought 6 wars in between 1947 and 1999. it asked west for weapons but they armed pakistan instead. During Kargil war of 1999, India asked US for help on it's GPS data but US refused and India had to built it's own. In late 1980s, India was about to get a cryogenic engine for it's space mission, but it got delayed for 20 myears due to huge western resistance. Doesn't it sound hypocritic to expect India to condemn it's all weather partner russia just to satisfy western intrests ? If you ask for public opinions in India on the ongoing war, the result will be something like (90-10) against Russia. Buttt...... on West vs Russia, the equation is exactly opposite and it shouldn't be a suprise.

@@mandeepdaksh376 ". It is for them to decide whether they care for the innocent lives" Would you expect from the West some equivalent of "90 tones of humanitarian aid" or something more serious? At least from Western perspective it looks that India has aggressive China at the border, and seem that it would be really handy to have some allies that are also not thrilled by Chinese trying to achieve hegemony, though are directly less threatened. "I know we Indians are not white people" Odd claim on two levels. First, from purely genetic perspective a high caste person is closer to northern European than person from southern edges of Europe. Yeah, I know that recently PIE migrations are taboo among Indian nationalists, but even if you personally doubt evidence, they are taken as fact in the West. Second, and more important West tend to ally with other democracies, and does not have problems with them being even more genetically different, like Koreans or Taiwanese.
