I used to download SONU's every single song available at the time of 2005-06 from internet... That time internet was very slow.. It used to take whole night to download a single 4mb song...but those childhood days with SONU's songs r unforgettable...

Sonu Nigam or as I like to say Sonu Bhaiya... He picked up where legends like Rafi sahab sadly left the world. Sonu Nigam on stage is his home turf. He is foremost a live performer.. turned into a background singer.. he can do that whole day. It's his own way.. the songs he sung are all legendary tracks. This is first nature to him. Shreya Ghoshal for example is from the same school of practice.. the first time she sung on TV was in a show hosted by Sonu Nigam.. his style of singing and the different types of songs he has done. Like he proved there's nothing in name.. he sat on the street in disguise and attracted a small crowd of people walking on the street. He is blessed and this is why we have Arijit and other singers who are equally good and can do the same. It's hard practice.. and none of them need any electronic device.. forget auto tune. They can sing in a room with 100 people without a Mike and it will be as amazing as this.

Funfact - the man who presented the award was a part of india's one of the firsts music bands. The name of that band was " Band of boys". in early 2000 they were the it boys. gosh we were small kids then would love them so much. you can react to this band whenever you can

Rafi was Sonu’s idol. In his starting days he copied Rafi but realized he had to have his own identity. When both Rafi and Kishore died a void was filled by Sonu and Kumar Sanu. Kishore Kumar was outstanding. Sonu is a toddler compared to some of yesteryear’s singer. IMO Sonu has a wimpy voice, Arijit is today’s star !

"Riyaaz" what you call practice...even today he must have done "Riyaaz" for at least 3 hours. Now imagine in 30 years how many hours he's sung for. Minimum 40,000 hours. That's why he doesn't need a tune or occasion to sing. He sings just like we breathe 😊❤️

It helps with concentration, helps with keeping traditional knowledge flowing through generations, and music is related to spirituality in Hinduism. Sonu, Neha Kakkar, and Richa Sharma (and others) grew up doing “Jagraan”. Jagraan is the practice of singing all night in a temple or mosque and common in Punjab. Neha and her brother and sister would do 3 or 4 shows a night at different temples. They started doing this when they were like 7 years old. THAT is where their clear voice, stamina, and confidence comes from.
