You are forgetting that when Israel and Palestine were formed, Israel had recognized Palestine, but the Arab countries and Palestine did not recognize Israel and waged war on Israel. And whether you believe it or not, this has become a religious issue and Western countries are working against Israel due to the pressure of all Muslim(57) countries. hi @NicoleInIndia, hope you're doing well. The issue is not the displacement or the formation of Israel. It runs much deeper. The "Palestinians" don't want a state. They just don't want Israel to have a state. In fact, its broader than that. They don't want non-Muslims to control "Moslem lands". Also, there was no such thing as "Palestinians" before the 1960s when Arafat created the PLO. In other words, there were Arabs and there were Jews. There was no Palestinian nation nor a separate Palestinian identity. They were simply Arabs. Its like Telugu people living in Vijayawada. They don't become a separate people because they moved to Hyderabad or Kurnool. If you really want to speak about such issues, it would be good to do some research. Here's a couple things to research : a) If Palestinians were indeed a nation, or had a distinct identity, then why were they okay to be ruled by the Jordanians and before that the Ottomans for centuries? No protests. No jihad. Nada. Now contrast that with the Kurds. They have had a full-fledged insurgency against the Turks for a looong ass time. Both are Sunni Muslims, but the Kurds have a genuine feeling of being Kurdish - a separate nation. 95% of today's Palestinians (and their ancestors) were not in the land before the 1860s. They were Egyptians, Lebanese, Saudis, Syrians etc etc. They were not from the land. They came from elsewhere smelling opportunity. b) Jews are indigenous to the land. The Arabs kicked out the Jews from the land starting with the Rashidun Caliphate in the 600s. The Jews kept coming back, hoping to settle. They lived as dhimmis (2nd class citizens) under Islamic rule, but they kept trying to come back and live in the land. They kept getting kicked tf out. They were massacred. They were few in number, like today's Yazidis. They didn't give up. They kept coming back.50% of Jerusalem was Jewish when Mark Twain visited. There were massacres, but the connection to the land remained alive. And finally, to Hamas. Hamas really believes that non-Muslims are not allowed to control "Moslem lands". That means any land that has ever been conquered by Muslims (Spain, Portugal, India etc) are to be given to the Muslim "Waqf" in perpetuity to be governed under Sharia law. No ruler nor collection of rulers can ever make any laws that contravene that. It is no wonder that so many Muslim nations like Morocco, KSA, UAE, Bahrain cannot stand Hamas. They are fundamentalists and extremists. They go further. They say every Muslim is duty bound to fight occupiers. The wife doesn't have to listen to her husband. She can walk out and join the jihad. Even the slave doesn't have to listen to their master (yea they casually throw slave in there :). They throw "collaborators" off buildings, carve the backs of people who steal food with the word thief and have them stoned. They built an entire underground tunnel system but nothing for civilians. They shoot from behind civilians and run and hide. They're the regressives of the regressives.
