Being an employee in IT industry i pay 30% taxes , but still I am worried about my child's future because of this inflation and poor government facilities that I can't send my child to government school or no support / relaxation from government, no medical facilities. I am a single earner in my family . Nirmala sitharaman and current government has made the tax policy worst .

The difference is 90% of Europe's population pays income tax. While barely 6% of the population here does. Whats more is that a lot of parties here think distributing freebies (out of the tax money of course) is a good idea.

Don’t forget, the land ultimately belongs to the government and if need be, certain articles can be pressed into use to justify the forceful acquisition of the land or the property from you as an ordinary citizen. So technically, it’s not even your land to begin with 😂

But for the part of security, police force in my area doesn't provide me with any proactive security in form of patrols etc. I had theft at home. As a middle class working person my tax is deducted from source. I don’t mind even if the govt taxes me 50 percent. The problem is we are not getting anything in return.. I live in a BJP state before it was ruled by congress.. still the conditions of city roads are in same condition as its use to be. Drinking water same like it use to be ..municipal officials are corrupted same as it used to be.. I hardly see any difference. We middle class Indians are taxed right, left and centre

The Air Force has time and resources available to serve for Ambani's' wedding but they don't have time to put out the Uttarakhand forest fire which is still spreading rapidly. Only did the Air Force take action when the fire reached towards their own cantonment. Adequate measures are still left to be taken. How can the government be so insensitive!!!

We are paying 30% of tax from our salaries and then there is tax on interest income, dividend income, trading income besides GST and service tax. A salaried person is worst sufferer of the agony of financial mismanagement in this country.

Coming from middle class and having 100% legal income (business), I've to pay 18% GST and Income Tax, I'm already working for 4 months in a year for govt. Still no tax cuts, highest interest rates (Poor gets interest rates cut by govt, rich by banks), no govt facilities not even basic amneties. It's not about BJP or Congress-the reality of taxation is undeniable. However, my issue is with the disparity: why is only 5% of the population paying taxes while the other 95% goes unquestioned? I'm willing to pay my share, but what do I get in return? Government hospitals are often inadequate, government life insurance options are lacking, and the quality of education in government schools is subpar. Until government services match the quality of private ones, it feels unjust to demand taxes without providing equivalent benefits. This is why I'm considering relocating to a country with zero or low taxes, where the system feels fairer.

When you find a better country to live in, let me know. In west, you will never be able to afford maid services like you do in India. Cleaning the house, cooking etc, all will need to be done by you. UPI ? Forget it. Digi Locker, DigiYatra? Good luck. Fast Tag? Maybe. Being able to call any service at home, via Urban Company etc. Groceries delivered at home? Sure buddy. Expensive food: Check. If you live in USA, gotta deal with homeowner's associans, gun violence, etc. You have no idea how good you have it here. Priviledge is invisible.

@@EdwinTyler You really think that if they are unhappy there they will tell you? They know USA NRIs when they come to India have a lot of clout (which everyone loves). If they start saying they are miserable there, then they will lose all that. I will give you an example. There was a school near my place which was extremely renowned. For the children who did not study there, it felt like heaven, which they could not even dream of. Everyone said good things about that place. I was able to pass their entrance test and get in. I realized that this school was not even at the level of my previous school. Not only did my heaven get destroyed but my home (original school level facilities) was also taken. I was miserable. But then a few days later one of my neighbours asked about my new school. Without a second thought, I blurted, its a great school. I actually feel ashamed as i daily sit with people who are divided among BJP vs Congress, i asked them what is this government doing, what are our MPs doing but nothing. Lets take a case the NGT ruling of the 10/15 year ban while people are taxed for the entire 15 years and the Sunfilm Ban rather than updating rules equipping the police with valid equipment, setting up proper Vehicle fitness centres, the critical thinking has gone down the drain. The mentality is if i can afford it doesn't matter to me. The Same Rajma, Dal, Chhole that was available for Rs. 60 per kg is touching Rs. 150 per kg nobody raises their voice. It is truly a shit country, shit judicial administration.

If you can't have a child, adopt one there are a lot of children who have lost their parents, adopt them. Sadly we don't have any better alternative than BJP (at least not yet). Things were much worse during Congress rule. Inflation were 10-12% then. While right now its around 6%. No doubt BJP is bad but congress is worse. Having an unstable government could be a disaster in these uncertain times when there's multiple wars ongoing (Russia - Ukraine, Tension in middle east, China looking to invade Tiawan, risk of a world etc).

Even if we come across indirect tax , the price mentioned on the bills, receipt and products does not give us information about how much tax we are paying on it or not even what bracket of taxation it come under. We need a real think on why basic necessities like food, medicine, children clothing, education were bought under GST. Most developed countries charge Sales Tax as Value Added Tax and hence by definition only on items were a value is created like oranges are exempt but orange juice isn't as there is value created. I think most of bureaucrats sitting in that GST panel simply decided to put everything under GST and remove/reduce on some where there is fierce opposition - a very unscientific way of deciding allocation of GST. Remember the 28% GST slab on cement - how stupid it was ?

I do not know Finances much nor Taxation, but after relocation from US (after 15+yrs) to India, I was told by a Big Tax consulting company .. "your tax will not be so complicated as you will Pay more tax in India than US, so you can claim that in your US tax filing". In US, I can (and have done so) emailing and via voice mail communicated with my US Rep about some issues, Not sure if it can be done in India, and interestingly I received a nice letter from my Rep about thanking me for contacting his office :) feels good that they at least listen. Some Rep are true to their words ..and take up the issue, others just ignore if its not profitable for them. Long time back, or ages back.. I wanted to try my hand at UPSC and try to join IPS. That dream died on the vine. Hope you guys become a Good bureaucrats and serve India well.

The joke of the era is that many ppl think that IAS and other higher govt officials are kings . And when argued they say in that case try to arrange a meeting with them and you will get to knw and so on. If this the public mindset where will the country go if the public doesn't know it's rights.
