" India is an old country but a young nation "... I dream of India strong, independent, self reliant and in the front rank in the nations of the world in the service of mankind " Great words by former PM of India, Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji. Respected Sima Garewalji,an excellent documentary on the life of Shri Rajiv Gandhi ji with heart touching script, narration and presentaton. Many salutes from me. As a PM of this nation, I think his tenure was excellent and memorable . During his tenure, our nation got technologically updated and emerged as a regional power.Great achievement.. The talks of eminent personalities which are shown in documentaty indicate how honest, simple, humble, pure hearted man he was.. One must notice his facial expressions during his talks on any topic or on any acassion... So simple, humble and smiling. . He was more concerned for the upliftment of oppressed, depressed,, exploited and poor. He was a strong believer of secularism, equality, humanity and human values. There are lot many things to be learnt from life of Rajiv ji My humble tributes to this great man, great human being. Simi Garewal madam Thanks from heart.🙏🙏🙏.

We grew up watching Mr.Rajiv Gandhi signing up, meeting and shaking hands with other great leaders from all over the world. We used to watch only Doordarshan National channel then and admire this well mannered, well spoken and very matured person. We are missing such a visionary leadership who is less in criticising others and focussing on own work and own improvements. Hope every young indian watch this master piece by Simi ma'am and clear their misconceptions in this fake media world. Thank you so much ma'am. It's such a great honour to watch this and cherish the memories 🙏

Rajiv Gandhi is very special to me. I dont exactly know why.. By the time he died I was just about 7 years old. But that moment had a profound effect on me. I still remember seeing his sad funeral with my little eyes on Doordarshan so many years ago. That smiling photo of his which was placed near his body on the gun carriage was firmly etched in my mind. The tale of his death was always a mystery to me and I was very curious to know about it. Then I started to learn more about him and till day I have collected about 7 - 8 books on his assassination. I have also preserved 4 magazines issued in 1991 which covered news of his death. And a dozen more about 25 to 30 magazines published by India Today, The Week, Frontline, Sunday, The Illustrated Weekly etc that covered Rajiv Gandhi's period starting from the early 1980s. Everytime I miss him, I just come to watch Simi's amazing documentary. I have watched these for about 50-60 times.. but still I just come here to see Rajiv's smile, his talk and his expression of love for India and her people. I have never loved and admired any other politician more than him. I shall miss him till my last breath. Thank you Simi ji.. you have frozen Rajiv's happy memory for us for all eternity 🙏❤️

In part one Rajeev looks on brink of breaking down while attending Indira's funeral but he controlled his emotions! How much he had suffered! He lost his father, brother and finally mother! He himself was assassinated years later! And still people abuse him! What a shame! The current prime minister should watch these videos before calling him corrupt! Rajeev was such a jem! Thank you Simi for sharing these videos! I had only read about him but never watched his interview before. Thanks a ton!

THIS COUNTRY IS FULL OF BASTARDS AND HYPOCRITES. THEY CAN'T APPRECIATE ANYTHING GOOD OR WORTHWHILE. You are very correct. Rajiv had seen several calamities and despite the fact he was stoic.. It requires tremendous courage to be on his shoes.. The mobile phone I am using today is solely the outcome of his IT revolution in India. However, the चाय वाला says today that Rajiv was corrupt. चाय वाला is corrupt rather who had unduly favoured Ambani in Rafael deal. Rajiv had no hand in Bofors. I fully believe that. He was gem of a man and a nice human being 😢😥 I and my country lost a great visionary. Irreparable loss

That's what human spirit is about. In hindi we say - khaandani log. Such nice, educated, liberal people. Listening to him, Indira ji is like sitting with scholars. Wow.

Dream of Rajivji.." where india is back in the leadership of human civilization, like it was 1000 years ago, perhaps more, an India where poverty is removed, where there is social justice, where every human being can live with dignity, where human rights are fully guaranteed, where every human being matters, where every living thing matters, , its also an India which is economically strong, India with its rightful place in the world, India which sends out its message of tolerance and compassion and secularism of one humanity to the whole world"..i m so touched by this message..wonder if we would ever get such humble, highly educated, dignified, grounded, committed, ethical prime minister who sacrificed his family life to develop India n later laid down his life for the principles he believed in..n became martyrs..Rajivji u will always be deep in our heart mind n soul..

He took me and my brother to the meeting ground Thus we met him and Rajiv ji talked to us. I still remember his beautiful smile and loving nature. He was a wonderful human being and a good politician. But in the very next year he was assassinated. It was a shock to all people of lndia. He was very young and dynamic leader. I was just thinking, in this episode it was spoken about modernization from agriculture towards technology etc. And I think of Bengaluru, and all the IITs, and all the CEOs in the world, who are coming from India. Rajiv Gandhi was a simple and innocent person. The moment he entered politics he was no longer the simple and innocent person. One cannot be like that in politics. He was a good person but not a great leader. He made it very clear in this documentary of not wanting to enter politics. But some Congress leaders and the general population pushed him into politics for their own selfish gains....ultimately leading him to his horrific assassination. Looking at his innocent face and smile and then remembering those horrific pictures of Sriperumbudur .....it is extremely difficult to even think that those pictures are of the same innocent and beautiful person who truly wanted to lead a simple life away from the corridors of power. All those people, leaders and the general public who chanted 'Rajiv Gandhi Zindabad' used him for their own selfish needs and ultimately pushed him to his death. Had he been alive today as a commoner....he would be working in a good position in any company with a happy family, his children would have been doing something of their own and most probably Rajiv Gandhi would have been spending quality time with his grandchildren. Most importantly he would have been alive and would be smiling.

He really looks like a head of country by his talk and walk I feel he is very productive and decent . But shamefully I am going to say that our todays pm modi don't have these quality he looks a broker by his talks and gorila by his walk . he is very much like raja sahab of koyla movie. Arrogance is in his blood. He lies like a comedian.

He was such a dynamic personality. He would have built a greater India 😔. Its sad India lost him too early. If we had a Prime minister like him now, I wonder what solutions he would have given for the corona pandemic, instead of the lame solutions our dear Modiji gives us.

Dear Simmiji , Can’t thank you enough for sharing this - Rajiv has been and still is my role model since I was a teenager. Never got a chance to meet him, have few hand written notes from him and miss him very much. These videos are the only reminders and links to the legacy he left. After all these years , these recordings bring lot of joy and tears. When you can, please do share the music (just the audio files)by Louis Banks- absolutely fantastic composition. You have created something priceless , hope you can do more like these in coming years. Best wishes

What a piece of work is this man. I can only quote the great Justice Krishna Iyer' take on him "I found shades of his grandfather in him". So profound was his concern for the country. On his death we have lost nobility in public life.

Rajiv ji was born the same year as my father. They both were true to themselves, and both died while performing their duty towards their family. Ofcourse, Rajiv ji had an enormous family - all the Indians. RIP Rajiv ji. Coincidentally, it's his birthday today. Motherland India must be proud of this son.
